12 Things You Loved As A Kid

Some of our best memories come from our childhoods. For me, food has always been a place where family and friends were involved, and it was what conversation took place around. Reminiscing on some of my favorite childhood snacks brings back good memories, and I hope it does for you too. However, if you did not have one of the foods listed below, I seriously doubt you had as good of a childhood as I did.

1. Uncrustables

Don't tell me you secretly peeled off the crust at school when your mom packed you a regular sandwich. This was always the PB & J you were looking for in your lunchbox.

2. Kool-Aid

Kool-Aid was one of the best drinks because of the twisty top. I bet you gulped this drink down faster than any other drink.

3. Fruit Roll-Ups

You probably got in trouble for playing with these at school. But hey, it's hard to finish your lunch when you're too busy putting tattoos on your tongue.

4. Gushers

This was the snack that was so good, you didn't want to share a single one of them to anyone. When you ate these, I'm sure you slurped out the center first.

5. Push-Up

The best portable popsicle of all times. All you had to do was keep pushing until there was no more ice-cream and the plastic pusher fell out the top.

6. Sunny D

Nothing made your mornings sunnier than this drink. This definitely made your day a little bit brighter.

7. Happy Meal

I know you remember ordering these as a kid. Let's be real: the only reason you ordered the happy meal was for the toy.

8. GoGurt

Frozen or not, these brain buster GoGurts gave you and your friends way too much fun at lunch. Then the rest of lunch you would reminisce on your favorite Spongebob episode.

9. Lunchables

You were just hoping that your mom would forget to pack your lunch, so she could give you one of these. Dessert was always eaten first.

10. Hubba Bubba Ouch!

No, you didn't get a scrape or hurt yourself. These weren't band-aids, but the best tasting gum in the whole world. The container was always saved to put your favorite knick-knacks in.

11. Capri Sun

I'm sure the Capri Sun was what you had with every meal. This was your on-the-go drink and after you finished it, you would ask for another one.

12. Birthday Bash Cups

I know that during at least one of your childhood birthdays you had these to give out. Birthday bash cups always go great with some birthday cake!

If you remember eating these as a kid then you had one heck of a childhood. If you don't, then you need to go to the nearest WalMart or Kroger immediately! Next time you eat one of these, appreciate the life you once had as a young kid.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
