I think we can all remember those days in middle school when keeping up with our Facebook profiles was the cool thing to do. As I look back, I can't help but laugh, and feel ashamed at a majority of the things I did on Facebook. I'm writing this to remind all of you of eleven of the major embarrassments of our middle school days and they all start with Facebook.
1. No matter what you did or what happened you had to post a Facebook status about it.
I didn't even get likes, but hey at least everyone knew my every move.
2. You had a poke war with everyone including your grandma.
And there was nothing more embarrassing than losing a poke war.
3. You added one of those weird photos with descriptions of something and tagged your friends in which ever one you thought described them best.
This was the core of middle school drama because if someone didn't get tagged in the one they wanted, it was the end of the world.
4. Farmville.
If your farm wasn't huge, you weren't cool.
5. Listing your friends as your sister, mom, grandpa, etc...
My best friend was listed as my grandpa, my other best friend as my mom, and my other best friend as my uncle.
6. Adding a selfie and thinking it looked good.
And then looking back and realizing it wasn't cute at all.
7. Capitalizing random letters in each word.
Because we had to find a way to spice up our wall posts.
8. Picnik.
There was no greater satisfaction than creating a masterpiece with your favorite quote on Picnik.
9. Spending hours 'Becoming a Fan' of everything.
I don't know why it was such a big deal to become a fan of literally everything, but I know we all regret it now because they all pop up on our Facebook page today with stupid posts.
10. Like for a truth is or TBH.
Posting a truth is status after school and then posting a bunch of nonsense like, "You're so nice!! I wish we talked more!!"
11. Facebook Flair Board.
I had to make sure my Facebook Flair Board was completely filled at all times.
12. Being a part of a bunch of random groups with your friends that are all titled weird.
Being a part of these with my fellow classmates for absolutely no reason at all.
