The country is often perceived as "the middle of nowhere" with "nothing to do." In my years living in the country those statements baffled me. There is so much to appreciate about the country and there is always something to get into.
1. Dogs Love It
Dogs love running, and the country has all of the space for that. My dog takes laps around the yard chasing birds and rabbits. I couldn't imagine him living in a tight, confined space without a big yard!
2. Bonfires
Bonfires are the epitome of summer. In the country, I've been to bonfires that were taller than the house!
3. Country Roads
The country is the best place for a good drive. There isn't any traffic so the only thing to worry about is deer!
4. Peace
The city never sleeps. I actually like sleeping, so the country is perfect.
5. The Woods
We don't just have cornfields, we have the woods too! Walks in the woods are so fun and beautiful in the fall.
6. Fresh Air
It doesn't smell like the city does. Most of the time it smells like flowers! (Besides when there's cow manure.)
7. Road Trips
Since not everything is local, everything is twenty or more minutes away, which calls for a road trip. Everyone loves road trips!
8. Country Music
There's a music genre about where we live! The city doesn't have "city music", therefore the country is better.
9. The Sunsets
Sure, everywhere has a sunset, but the sunsets in the country are so pretty. There are no tall buildings and the land is flat so you can see the sun all the way down.
10. Nature
There is so much life in the country. Birds chirping, flowers blooming, trees filled with leaves.
11. Open Space
There is so much space and so many things to do with it! Walk your dog, ride a four wheeler, play sports. The opportunities are endless!
12. The Stars
Easily everyone's favorite part about living in the country. There are no city lights to hide the beautiful stars! I've seen a million shooting stars, living out in the country.
