Most families across the US have/ have had a pet. Whether it's a dog or an iguana, it is often that such pets become part of the family in Western culture. As such, our pets are pampered to the max.

So, here are 12 things you'll only understand if you are an over the top pet parent.

1. Celebrating pet birthdays

When you buy gifts and a treat for your pet on their birthday, you know they are officially part of the family.

2. Giving them treats for literally everything

Sits *Treat* Stays *Treat* Trips over their own feet *Treat*

3. Dressing them up for holidays (or just a normal Tuesday)

Nothing is cuter than a cute pet in a sweater.

4. Having full conversations with them

Who else are you going to talk to when you're home alone?

5. Getting them their own advent calendar for Christmas

Chocolate for me, gingerbread biscuits for you.

6. Buying them all the cutest toys

When else would you buy that animated avocado plush toy?

7. Letting them sleep in your bed

Fuzzy snuggles are the best.

8. Asking their opinion

I agree the black sweater is much more flattering.

9. Creating their own social media accounts

But why does my dog have more followers than me?

10. Not wanting to leave them at home when you go out of town

I'm sure I could fit her under my hoodie to get on the plane.

11. Getting them a pup-cup at Starbucks

If I get a sweet treat, so do they.

12. Dancing around the house with them

There's no better dance partner than the one who doesn't have a choice.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
