My how time flies. We've made it America! We are finally at the end of this wild ride called the 2016 General Election! No matter the outcome, the US will have a new President. It has been a long journey, and one that has yet to be concluded. But, there has been a lot of focus on this election since early 2015 (and arguably even earlier than that). Thus, for this article, I will write about 12 things I learned from this election season.
1. Yes, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the frontrunners of this election
2. Bernie just wanted to make college free
3. Trump managed to take down prominent GOP members in his run for President, most notably Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush
4. Political ads on television tend to play back to back the closer we get to the election
5. Clinton's emails aren't going away, no matter how hard she clicked delete
6. Trump is going to say something controversial, and people will still support him
7. Polls are fun to look at when you're a political science major
8. Manipulating the virtual outcome of the election is also fun
9. You know what isn't fun? Watching the debates
10. No, seriously. What I learned from the debates is that the debates aren't fun and can be useless in producing policy goals
11. Campaigning is a lot of hard work
12. EVERY VOTE COUNTS! YOUR VOICE MATTERS!
No matter who you support, or even if you're frustrated by your choices, please vote! Make your voice heard! The election of this outcome depends entirely on you, the voters.
