12 Things Every Freshman Needs, But Forgets To Bring To College
Roommate Harmony

I have only been a college freshman for about a month now and I am already finding that I forgot essential things that really do make my every day life easier. These things are things you really don't think about while buying college essentials or wind up forgetting are in your house while packing. Here is a list of 12 things I believe every freshman needs to bring to college:

1. Water bottles.

Because walking to and from the kitchen with a Brita filter can be a pain in the butt and you sure do drink tons of water. Don't forget to recycle!

2. Paper plates.

Because they are so much easier to clean than regular plates.

3. Shower shoes.

Because showering barefoot in college showers is absolutely disgusting.

4. Sneakers.

Because you will be doing a lot of walking.

5. Rain boots.

The weather changes quickly and walking to class in flats while it's pouring isn't the smartest thing.

6. Snacks, mac and cheese, and food.

You're a college student who is always, always hungry. Don't be afraid to fill up your fridge with food because future you will be a happy you and thank you for it.

7. Candy.

Having candy is around is just a nice way to pick yourself up when your tastebuds are feeling down after eating that interesting dining hall food.

8. Emergen-C packets.

There will be some days where your body will be dragging behind and you really don't want to get coffee again so I recommend that you try Emergen-C packets which is a great vitamin C supplement. Also, you'll learn quickly that once one person sneezes in class, the next day everyone is sneezing.

9. Pencils.

I forgot to bring pencils with me to school and I never realized until now how much they really do come in handy.

10. Planner.

Because you can never over organize your life with a planner especially if you're one busy bee.

11. Cleaning supplies.

Two Girls + One Room = Strands of Hair Everywhere. And dust -- dust collects on everything. Just make sure you clean your room at least once a week because it gets messy very quickly.

12. A fan.

A lot of dorms do not have AC in the room and technically fall doesn't come around until about a month after you move in. So definitely bring a fan because it gets very hot some days.

I did not bring everything on this list with me, and I either had to go out and buy these things or wait for my mom to bring them up to me a month later. I really hope this list helps future freshman everywhere because having these things with you will make your life easier.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
