My trip to Australia is coming closer and closer, so I decided to find out a few more facts about it. I have a "boy scout" mentality in that I like to be fully prepared before I jump into anything big. So I thought I'd share some of my oddest findings about this country with the best accents!

1. It was the second country in the world (after it's friend New Zealand) to give women the right to vote.

2. The Great Barrier Reef has it's own post box. Just in case you need to send some mail to Nemo.

3. Kangaroos are only one centimeter long when they're born. This isn't really about Australia, I guess, but that's what everyone correlates the country with.

4. The selfie is an Australian invention. Thanks a lot, mates.

5. Australian locals call Ugg boots "very ugly boots," (finally someone said it) even though the idea of them was from Australians turning a sheep skin inside out to make a boot.

6. There was once a war declared by the Australian military against the emu population. The emus won. And I don't know which is worse.

7. There's a bird called a lyre, and the males can imitate over 20 different bird sounds as well as car alarms, chainsaws, and cameras. Ummm... mockingjay????

8. Some places play classical music in their parking lot to stop teenagers from hanging around there. Lynden Dairy Queen, take notes.

9. The world's longest golf course is in Australia. All 850 miles of it. Good thing I don't golf.

10. Australians made up an animal called the drop bear to scare tourists. This drop bear would jump out of trees and attack them, if it actually existed.

11. Over 200 languages and dialects are spoken there. All I really need is to gain a flawless Australian accent.

12. The former Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, attributes a lot of his political success to the fact that he broke a world record of drinking 2.5 pints of beer in 11 seconds. But no worries guys we're all doing much more important things when it comes to politics, like, fighting.

Not that any of these facts make me any more prepared, but I sure do like the sounds of it. Australia sound freakin hilarious.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
