12 Thank You's to my High School BFF

I don't remember how it happened, but suddenly you were my best friend. Polite, sometimes awkward lunch periods were replaced with hot gossip sessions and suddenly no topic was off limits. I spent almost every afternoon of senior year with you. We doubled dated. We went on long drives that went no where blasting music and slipping slurpies just because we could, and we perfectly posed our prom photos in your living room. Leaving you for school was the hardest thing I ever did, but in the end it only made us stronger. So here I am, saying thank you. Thank you...

1. Thank you for always answering a text within the two minute alert

Even when I'm really bad at it and sometimes take forever, you always forgive me.

2. Thank you for always taking my word on Netflix recommendations.

And for always giving me good ones, and for talking about it non-stop with me.

3. Thank you for always keeping updated on the High School drama on Facebook.

And laughing at it with me when no one else will because no one else would even remotely understand it.

4. Thank you for willing to FaceTime me at all times of the night.

And for not saying anything when I'm double chinning it hard and have no makeup on

5. Thank you for always picking up my pieces.

Through every mid-day crisis, every failed relationship, and every day I just need my best friend, you're always just a phone call away

6. Thank you for always keeping me updated in your life.

I love hearing about it and it helps me pretend i'm doing it alongside with you

7. Thank you for being my little piece of home.

Whenever I need a quick TBT, I always no where to go, like an instant mini vacation

8.Thank you for all the stupid and meaningless Snapchats.

Theres literally no one else I'm comfortable sending that face to in this entire planet.

9. Thank you for always giving me a wakeup call.

For yelling at me when I need it, for giving me a speech when I need it, I'm probably still alive because of you

10. Thank you for trying to remember everyone's name that I mention.

It's nearly impossible, but you do it anyway and I love it. Just you letting me rant about Hot Kid in my Seminar Class makes me feel 400% better already.

11. Thank you for always taking pictures with me no matter how random.

Because we never see each other anymore so when we do, it must be properly documented

12. Mostly, Thank you for doing life with me.

Thank you for being my rock. Thank you for being someone I can lean on. There's millions of people on this earth that could've by chance been my best friend, but I'm glad it was you

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
