With summer around the corner, beauty routines should get switched up! Summer brings lots of changes, like changes in the air and skin. The sun is very strong and damaging, so we need to make sure that we use extra protection. Here are some beauty tips and tricks that are super helpful for summertime!

1. Use a foundation or BB cream with high SPF

Although this is not ideal for photos, it's better to protect your skin.

2. Don't forget to use lip balm, also with SPF, whenever you are outside

Your lips get burnt too, and believe me, it isn't fun.

3. Exfoliate your skin every few days

It helps to get all the extra dead, gross skin off. However, don't overdo it because it may make your skin more susceptible to burn.

4. Stay moisturized

Being in the sun for long periods of time will dry you out, so keep your skin extra hydrated!

5. Deep condition your hair

Along with keeping your skin hydrated, it is also important to protect your hair.

6. Use cream products on your face

Powders may dry out your skin, but creams will give you the summer glow that everyone wants.

7. Waterproof everything

If you do decide to put makeup on before going to the pool or beach, waterproof is key. We don't want things smudging everywhere.

8. Setting spray will keep your makeup on

9. Try to avoid excessive heat on your hair

The sun and beach dry it out enough.

10. Don't be afraid to have a dewy finish instead of matte, you don't look oily

11. Keep your face out of the sun and use bronzer to tan it instead

12. Stay hydrated

As much as your body needs the water, your skin also does too!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
