Glasses. Some of us love our glasses, others hate them. But the fact is, if you don't have perfect vision you basically need them to survive. I remember when I put on my first pair of glasses when I was 13 years old. For the first time in years, I could see the individual leaves on trees rather than a green blur. The power of glasses seemed incredible then, but now I find myself complaining more often than musing. To all of the glasses-wearers out there, here is a testament to your struggles.
1. This is way too relatable.
"Wow, I look good."
*puts on glasses*
"Nevermind."
2. People always want to try them on.
Person: “I LOVE your glasses! Can I try them on?”
Me:
3. And then they tell you you’re blind.
REALLY? I had no idea.
4. Looking like a nerd.
Some people look naturally fabulous in glasses. But for those of us who don’t, we usually end up looking like Carl from Jimmy Neutron.
5. Being called four eyes.
Ugh.
6. RAIN AND FOG.
I would personally like to purchase those glasses with windshield wipers.
7. Trying to function without them.
Impossible.
8. Sunglasses aren't an option.
Unless you wear contacts.
9. Contacts.
Let’s be real – who wants to stick their fingers in their eyes?
10. You can’t fall asleep while watching TV.
You need your glasses in order to see the TV screen, but if you fall asleep with them on there’s always a chance of breaking them.
11. Dirty lenses.
Constantly having to clean them off with your shirt. Honestly though, how do they get so dirty?
12. Picking out new frames.
Hardest. Decision. Ever.
13. People expect you to be able to read things from really far away.
No, glasses do not give me super vision. No, I cannot read that sign.
But at least they do protect you from stuff like this
Glasses can be a pain, but remember that they make you 10x more fabulous and 100x less likely to trip on things.
