To set the scene, just imagine this. You have been "in love" with the same guy for over a year and all of a sudden things get rough. You cannot handle it anymore so you guys just go your separate ways. A year or more of the same person day in and day out. They know how you like your coffee, they know your favorite things, and how not to talk to you until you have coffee. They understand that there's no argument that a burrito bowl cannot fix and they know how you like them. We all know that starting over can be difficult, most of the time you just want to run back to the person that knows everything about you. But you can't do that to yourself and you know it. I know this can be the ultimate struggle, especially during the holidays. Why not put these single holiday struggles into a list? I hope I'm not the only one struggling.

1. "Who do I go to the zoo lights with?!"

This is a very legit question because you can't go alone and most of the people that go are couples and families. I'll just go by myself? No, I'm not that lonely... Yet..

2. How does one "start over?"

Do I just go up to a random person and ask if they want to drink hot chocolate and make snow angels? I'm not buddy the elf.

3. "Is this guy flirting with me??"

I have no idea what flirting is anymore...Does sarcasm count?

4. "Ew, have I really looked like this for the past year?!"

What has my life come to that I don't actually have makeup on everyday? It's like I have never seen my face without makeup, but I don't want to. It's bad.

5. Those cute couple-ish pictures are a thing of the past.

6. "So when is it acceptable to exchange numbers?"

7. How dressy do you dress for a date?

Can I just be the Grinch?

8. "What do you mean by 'how do you like your coffee?' you don't know?!"

The wrong coffee is seriously the worst.

9. Can you change the music in the car if you don't like it?

Serious question. Not even kidding.

10. When your pets don't even want to snuggle...

11. *Guy asks you out*

12. The struggle of thinking you like someone but not knowing if it's mutual...

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
