Everybody has ups and downs throughout their lifetime. We all have different ways of getting through the tough times. Whether we look to others for an encouraging word, pray, or cope on our own, we typically do something. Maybe you were having a great day and you stubbed your toe all of a sudden and it just brought you down. Here's a list of twelve songs that can be spiritually uplifting.

1. "Breathe" by Jonny Diaz

When the stress is on the rise in my heart I feel you say just
Breathe, just breathe
Come and rest at my feet
And be, just be
Chaos calls but all you really need
Is to just breath

2. "Tell Your Heart To Beat Again" by Danny Gokey

Yesterday's a closing door
You don't live there anymore
Say goodbye to where you've been
And tell your heart to beat again

3. "Not Backing Down" by Blanca

No, I’m not backing down
No, you can’t count me out
Nothing in this world gonna stop me now

4. "It's A Beautiful Day" by Jamie Grace

And oh there's something 'bout the way
Your sun shines on my face
It's a love so true, I can never get enough of you
This feeling can't be wrong!
I'm about to get my worship on
Take me away!
It's a beautiful day.
It's a beautiful day.

5. "Fighter" by Jamie Grace

He's a fighter, got that fire
When they thought he'd fade away
Throws a fist up, as he gets up
Feelin' stronger everyday

6. "Gold" by Britt Nicole
This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold

7. "Hello, My Name Is" by Matthew West
Oh, these are the voices. Oh, these are the lies
And I have believed them for the very last time

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I’ve been saved, I’ve been changed, I have been set free

8. "Glow In The Dark" by Jason Gray

Let the world see what you're made of
That His love's alive in your deepest parts
Like a flame, like a burning star you can shine right where you are
He made you to glow in the dark

9. "Forgiveness" by TobyMac

'Cause we all make mistakes sometimes
And we've all stepped across that line
But nothing's sweeter than the day we find
Forgiveness, forgiveness

10. "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten

Starting right now I'll be strong
I'll play my fight song
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me

11. "You Are More" by Tenth Avenue North

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

12. "Flawless" by MercyMe

No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless

There are so many encouraging and uplifting songs out there. I picked a few of my favorites. If you have the chance, check them out!

Christmas Tree
History.com

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
