Country music gets a bad rep. It's rumored to be all about pick-up trucks, cheating ex-boyfriends (or girlfriends), and dirt roads. However, those of you dislike country music probably have yet to realize that a fair amount of Carrie Underwood songs are actually about murder.

Yep. So technically, if you're a Law & Order fan, there's no reason why you shouldn't like country music as well (just go with me here). Sure, there are some classic country songs about love and road trips and all that jazz, but there's also many songs in country music that are all about revenge (which is probably why I like country so much). Here are 12 songs that will show you what country music is really about and will convince you to give country artists a chance:

1. Two Black Cadillacs -- Carrie Underwood

There's no way I could talk about country music without mentioning this song. It tells the story of a wife and mistress who team up to kill the cheating husband.

2. Mama's Broken Heart -- Miranda Lambert

Another cheating boyfriend, another classic song.

3. Even If It Breaks Your Heart -- Eli Young Band

It's a song that's about hope and inspiration, not revenge or murder...Wow!

4. Picture To Burn -- Taylor Swift

Yeah, we're back to revenge. Also, those of you who haven't listened to Taylor Swift's first album are missing out.

5. Fancy -- Reba McEntire

I can't talk about country music without mentioning the classics.

6. Stupid -- Kacey Musgraves

It's 3 minutes of Kacey Musgraves singing about how stupid love is. Country music tells it like it is.

7. Before He Cheats -- Carrie Underwood

Possibly the most famous (or infamous?) country song. What better way to get revenge than ruining someone's car?

8. Better Man -- Little Big Town

This recent hit was penned by Taylor Swift and given to the band "Little Big Town." It's a brutally honest song that tells the story of the guy she could have stayed with if he was a better person.

9. Colder Weather -- Zac Brown Band

Country music has no problem calling people out, especially those who can't keep their promises.

10. Chocotaw Country Affair -- Carrie Underwood

In this song, a married couple goes on trial for murder and refuses to give each other up. It's like a "Law and Order" episode told in four minutes.

11. Blue Ain't Your Color -- Keith Urban

Another semi-optimistic song.

12. I'd Lie -- Taylor Swift

This unreleased song is old country T-Swift and probably one of her best.

Go fourth and find your inner Southerner, y'all! *cringes*

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
