Because some of the best songs aren't on the radio

Everyone listens to music. Or at least they should. I've read somewhere that people that listen to at least five songs a day are happier. And they have more sex. I don't know how accurate this is, but I know that music certainly helps me get through the day. In the car, I personally prefer to listen to my phone because hearing the same ten songs on the radio day after day gets old pretty fast. So if you're wanting to look for new music that hasn't hit the radio yet, look no further than this here listicle.

Underage

When I was in high school, I didn't really do much. But this song definitely described the summer before my sophomore year in college. R. Kelly was on the radio, we raced trucks, and had twist off wine. We thought we had all the time in the world and then, then it was gone.

Next to Me ft. Kendrick Lamar

I'm a firm believer that Kendrick Lamar can make any song better. I don't know why, but I just love his voice. Mix it with Emeli Sandé's hit song and it's a hidden gem that not many people know about.

Crazy as Me

Maybe I just like horses and wrap around porches. And basically anything George Strait sings. And I'm somewhat crazy.

Cardiac Arrest

I first heard this song being covered by Keaton Stromberg and once I heard the original, I bought Bad Suns' cd. Their song Salt, which is about being transgender, comes as a close second favorite.

yes girl

If you've ever been in a situation where you never want to let someone down or hurt them, then this is the song for you.

What Ifs

Kane Brown teamed up with high school friend Lauren Alaina to basically make the song every girl wants to hear from the guy they love.

Does It Hurt

I heard this song for the first time the other day and laughed. It's basically a bunch of cheesy pick up lines piled into one song. It's sure to put a smile on your face.

Come Pick Me Up

I can't even begin to explain this song and why I love it so much. It's just one of those that I listened to for the first time and had it on repeat. I still do, actually.

Girls

Guys think they know everything. They think that once you love them and they break your heart, you won't love again. Which is kind of offensive because they don't know how tough girls really are.

I Could Use A Love Song

As a cynical person, I don't like much to do with love. I'd rather be alone. But sometimes you need something besides a vice. Sometimes you just need a love song to make you feel better, to believe that there might be someone worth waiting for.

Can't Turn You Down

We all have that one person that we can't say no to. "A phone call turns into a what's up, what's up turns into baby pick me up." They're so bad for you, but you don't care.

Wine After Whiskey

Going from one relationship to another is never easy. But when you love someone so much, the relationship is so passionate, then you go to something less, it's exactly like having wine after whiskey. You're waiting for that burn, that heat, that rush. Then it never comes.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
