Whether you discovered your love of reading before you could even walk or more recently, there are a few things all book lovers have in common. Maybe it's acknowledging your love for a fandom, or using books to escape reality -- we've all been there.

Books have a way of transporting you into another world. They draw you in, and leave you spinning once you leave.

With a book, you can travel the world without leaving the comfort of your couch (although I wouldn't say 'no' to a trip to Ireland). You can unwind from the day, and lay in bed reading about whatever your heart desires.

They can ignite dreams you never even knew you could have.

The following are 12 things book lovers are sure to understand:

1. The Great Book Debate.

I'm sure we're all familiar with The Great Book Debate (aka paper vs. e-book). Is one really better than the other? Each side seems to think so. Pro-paper can come up with a million reasons to match all of pro-e-book's reasons why one is the superior form. One doesn't have to rely on battery life while the other one can read in the dark.

You name it, it's been said. Let's just agree to disagree and move on with life, please.

2. Reading can be more vivid than watching TV.

There's a reason books are always better than the screen adaptations -- there's more detail (and often more personality).

3. That anger you experience when someone doesn't know what they're talking about.

You know, like when someone says the movie is better than the book, but they haven't read the book.

4. That face when someone you love says they don't like reading.

Honestly, this is the real test of friendship. You can't really understand how someone can possibly hate reading. They just need to find their genre.

5. That face when someone you love hates the series you love most.

Talk about betrayal of the deepest. How am I supposed to be friends with someone who hates Harry Potterand live with myself? It may seem impossible, but it takes patience the size of the Grand Canyon.

6. You fall in love with fictional characters.

This is probably the reason why I have such impossible standards for men, and thus, am perpetually single.

7. When anyone past high school still needs pictures to read a book.

Is it really so hard to concentrate on combined sentences?

8. That reaction when your favorite character just died.

Definitely an even bigger betrayal than number 4, now that I think of it. What kind of person introduces you to this brilliantly crafted character, makes you love them and then rips them out of your life?

An evil psychopath, that's what.

9. When you have to rush because you have somewhere to be.

Back in the days when I had a set bedtime, I'd have to convince my mom I had "just a few more pages in the chapter," when in reality, I had just started it. #oops

10. When the story is lagging.

OK Author, do we really need all that unnecessary detail? Just move the story along, please!

11. That moment you realize there aren't enough pages left to tie up all loose ends.

I'm torn between wanting a sequel and not wanting to wait a year for said sequel.

12. People question your sanity when you visibly react to what you're reading.

You don't need that kind of judgment in your life, anyway. Keep on reacting, fellow book-lover.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
