12 Signs You've Met Your College BFF

Before college, I wondered if I would find someone who would ever measure up to my best friends. I was nervous that I wouldn't find somebody to connect with. I was worried I wouldn't find that one person. Luckily, I did. We've come a long way from awkward Facebook messaging, and I couldn't be happier. These are just a few reasons I knew I found my college "person."

1. You know exactly what each other likes to eat.

2 p.m. or 2 a.m., mozzarella sticks are never a bad idea.

2. You become unoffical roomies.

You have a toothbrush in their dorm, and say things such as "WE need to clean this place."

3. You understand each other's school struggles.

It's even better when you have the same major.

4. They know your coffee order by heart.

"Two medium caramel iced coffees with cream and two sugars please!"

5. You have the same taste in music.

Spontaneous dance parties? Always down.

6. You pick up on each other's most used phrases.

Not always a good thing.

7. They're down for whatever, as long as it's with you.

"Wanna go out tonight?" "It's a Monday...LET'S GO!"

8. People expect to see you two together.

It's weird to see one without the other. When your BFF isn't in class, professors ask you why.

9. You DEFINITELY disagree on some things.

But that doesn't affect your friendship.

10. People are surprised to find out you two only met this year.

"How long have you guys been friends for?" "Like, 5 months."

11. They will never judge your weird habits.

12. You know that the next four years, and the rest of your life will be better with them by your side.

If you're lucky, you will find this person. When you do, never let them go, because they'll be here forever.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
