College is hard. It's a whole new experience for everyone. But after a while, you get used to it! Here are 12 signs you're getting the hang of things:
1. You know the latest time you can get up, still go to the dining hall, and get to class right on time.
Let's see- class is at 9:30, so I can wake up at 8:50, run to the dining hall, scarf down some cereal, and run to class. Sounds like a plan!
2. You've got a favorite study spot on or off campus.
You find yourself going to one place to study. Whether it's the top floor of the library a quiet cafe in town, you know where you get the most done.
3. You know where to get your coffee.
You know exactly where to get your morning, or afternoon, or night fix, of coffee. You plan your day around making sure you get caffeine in your system.
4. You can walk around campus like it's your second nature (for the most part).
You've got the hang of the layout on campus. You might still get lost going to new classrooms, but you can find your way eventually.
5. You've found people you can be weird with.
There are no such things as boundaries with your friends. You can be totally weird with each other and not worry about any judgment from the other end. These people are your BFFLs (Best Friends for Life).
6. You know all the best (and cheapest) restaurants available on GrubHub.
Dining hall food can suck. But GrubHub is always there for you when you just wanna stay inside and eat some good food. You know which restaurants will give you the most bang for your buck when you can spare a few dollars for decent food.
7. You use an agenda or calendar, to some degree.
You may not utilize it all the time, but you at least write some stuff down on an agenda or a calendar. You've mastered the art of giving yourself the illusion that you're organized.
8. You came out of course registration alive.
Course registration is the real-life Hunger Games. But you've come out alive, getting most, if not all the courses you want, with few obstacles in between. Congratulations!
9. You're more involved.
Maybe first semester you took it easy so that you could learn the ropes. Now you're more involved in clubs and activities and are getting out of your room more. That's always a good thing!
10. Your stalking skills are on point.
Maybe you've been eyeing that cutie in one of your classes, or in the dining hall, or in the library, and you know how to investigate. You're an expert stalker, and you can find someone on Facebook or Instagram with just a first name. And then, you start taking mental note of everywhere and every time you see that cutie. It's not creepy. It's totally acceptable.
11. You've figured out all your school's weird softwares.
Each school has its own software. You've figured out how to navigate the course reg software, the program that lets you check your grades. You know how to navigate those suckers like you've been doing it all your life.
12. You can procrastinate efficiently.
You know exactly how much you can put off your work without having a mental breakdown. You procrastinate doing one class's homework by doing another class's homework. You get all your work done, just not always ahead of time.
