12 Signs You're A Christmas Fanatic As Told By "Elf"

It is finally November, and the only thing I can think about is the one and the only holiday, Christmas. I know I am not the only person out there that thinks about Christmas all year long. Seriously though, on December 26th, I already have the "Christmas Blues." Better yet, I have them the late evening of Christmas Day, and from that day on, I anxiously count down until this wonderful time of year. Here are 12 signs that, like me, you are an absolute Christmas fanatic:

1. You put up your tree the day after Halloween.

Or before Halloween even happens. It's okay. Really. It is.

2. When the 25 Days of Christmas schedule is released, you get abnormally excited.

Even though we could easily watch these movies on our own time, anytime, we still need to watch them on the fixed schedule that Freeform (previously ABC Family) provides for us because that is what we call tradition.

3. Nothing gives you more enjoyment than drinking one of Starbucks' holiday beverages in their holiday themed cup.

On November 10th, you will be able to drink a Chestnut Praline, Caramel Brulée, or a Peppermint Mocha in a RED cup. If you're a true Christmas fanatic, you will completely understand that the cup truly makes a difference, and why this is so very important.

4. You have a designated holiday playlist with the best Christmas songs of all time.

And you play and sing along to it all day, every day.

5. You take your decorating very seriously.

From the candles to the tree to the lights, everything has to be perfection.

6. Every day, you plan to do at least one Christmas-related activity.

Major emphasis on the "at least" part...

7. You watch "Elf" repeatedly.

It is one of the best Christmas movies of all time. It never gets old. We don't know why, but it simply doesn't.

8. When it snows for the first time, you cannot contain yourself.

You even cry a little.

9. On certain days, your excitement levels are over the top.

We can't predict when it will happen, but when it does, we embrace it.

10. You suddenly don't care about your dieting. You just eat as you please.

Cookies, milk, and eggnog galore.

11. On the day that Santa comes to your neighborhood on the fire truck, you still run outside.

People may look at us weirdly, but we do not care.

12. And when Christmas is over, you officially become depressed

Don't go, Christmas. Please.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
