From the early morning practices to the late night games, I would never give this sport up for anything.
1. You nearly passed out every time you put your knee pads on because they really smelled that bad.
You claimed you would wash them, but really? How often was that?
2. There were lots of long bus rides to away games.
You said you would work on homework. But who has time for that between talking to your teammates, scrolling through Instagram, and singing along to the newest Beyonce song?
3. The team's moms came in clutch bringing you food for before the game.
Subway was my go to snackage.
4. You had to wake up at what seemed like the break of dawn for volleyball conditioning over the summer.
Every morning you debated whether it was worth it or not.
5. "Sorry, I have volleyball tomorrow" was a valid excuse for why you couldn't go out the night before a scrimmage.
6. Your hitting arm was way stronger than your other arm.
I swear I had more muscle in my right arm than my left.
7. You became numb to the pain of digging a hard hit.
Eventually you stopped realizing how red your arms were getting.
8. One, two, 14, and nine were more than just numbers.
We all know what they really stood for.
9. You decided as a team what to wear to school the day of a game.
Away games you dressed up; home games you wore your school colors.
10. It was completely normal to wear spandex out in public.
However, glares from old ladies usually came with it.
