I'll admit it, retail therapy is and always will be my favorite type of therapy. I will say, though, being a broke college student and also being a shopping addict is a very tough challenge. It is a challenge I am willing to overcome, though. For sure. How do you know if you are considered a shopping addict? Well, if you've been questioning this, maybe these 12 signs can help you figure it out.

1. As soon as you see your paycheck hit your bank account, you make a random excuse to go to Target.

"Oh, I wonder if they have any cute Valentine's Day decorations in the dollar section at Target?" Leaves with $50 worth of home decor.

2. Instead of paying attention to class lecture, you're probably online shopping.

"Hmm, I wonder what kind of sales Forever 21 has right now? Definitely more important than learning about plate tectonics." We all know that online shopping is a deadly trap for us shopping addicts. Especially when there is a good sale happening.

3. Flipping through everything on the clearance racks is probably your favorite form of exercise.

"This burns as many calories as running, right?" Yeah, totally. Do you know how much work it takes to flip through an entire clearance section?

4. Your favorite date nights typically include a trip to the mall.

*thinks of a way to con boyfriend into a trip to the mall* "But babe, I neeeed it!" Boom. There is a free trip to the mall. Shout out to all the good boyfriends out there who take their ladies on shopping trips, you da real MVPs.

5. You probably have a "Dream Closet" board on Pinterest that you update daily.

"This outfit is seriously so darling." *pins outfit to Dream Closet* We all daydream about how wonderful life would be if our Pinterest closet was our real closet. At least I know I do.

6. TJMaxx is EVERYTHING. 'Nuff said.

If you're truly a shopping addict — or even just a girl in general — you definitely love TJMaxx. What did we do to deserve such an amazing store in this world?

7. Even if you promise yourself you aren't going to spend money, you find something to spend it on anyways.

"Well, I mean, it is on sale.." Even when you shouldn't justify your purchase because you shouldn't have bought it in the first place, you always find a reason to justify it.

8. Chances are, you probably own the same shirt in multiple colors, because you had to have it. Especially if it was on sale.

"Oh, I love the black one. But I love the olive green one too! Should I get both? Is that even a question?" Of course you should. You know if you leave without one of them you will wish you had it eventually.

9. You have things in your closet that probably still have tags on them.

"I definitely don't remember buying this. Oh well, I'm sure I'll need it one day!" The thoughts that run through a shopping addict's head while attempting to clean out their closet.

10. When a normal person sees $25 in their bank account, they are probably freaking out because they are broke. To a shopping addict, you see this as a challenge.

"How many clearance items can I buy with $25?" If you go to the right places, you can hit the jackpot.

11. You use retail therapy as an actual form of therapy. And it always works.

"I need a little stress relief, shopping should do the trick." Hey, it's better than doing drugs.

12. All your friends turn to you for a shopping trip, because they know it's an offer you can't refuse.

"Sorry, can't make it to class today. My friends are hitting the mall and I really need some new clothes for spring break." Girl time is best spent shopping at the mall.

I honestly hope that this article helped you realize if you are a shopping addict and if you are, just know that we are all in this together. And if you ever need someone to go to the mall with, you know where to find me.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
