Roommates can be either a blessing or a curse. For some, you pick your roommate and know them really well. For others, you leave it up to fate and hope and pray that you get someone that you can get along with. I happened to get lucky and was randomly assigned to the best roommate ever, and I can only thank God for that. So here's to the lucky ones: the people who have their best friend as their roommate.

1. You laugh together about absolutely nothing.

You and your roommate love to laugh. All you have to do is look at each other and you burst into laughter.

2. You have no understanding of personal space... and that's OK.

Hugging is not out of the ordinary, and "mine" is a foreign term to you both.

3. You will do the weirdest things for each other without question.

Whether it be popping their back or examining their throat to see if the have strep, you do what you can to make sure your roommate is OK, because they would do the same thing for you.

4. You have twice as many things as you started out with.

If you happen to live with your best friend, odds are you have gained a whole new wardrobe. You share clothes, food, music, basically everything.

5. You feel lost without them.

Whenever your roommate is gone, you feel alone. You're not sure what to do with yourself. And you eagerly await your roommate's return.

6. You tell them everything.

There really are no secrets between you. No matter how long you have known them, you feel like you can confide in them.

7. You have lots in common.

The two of you enjoy doing the same things together. You get excited when you find another attribute that you have in common.

8. They know your schedule better than you do.

Sometimes you just lose your mind and can't remember what you need to. You don't need to worry though because your roommate has your schedule down to a T and will happily remind you that you have class in 20 minutes and you need to wake up!

9. When your roommate is not in class, your professors automatically asks you where they are.

If you are lucky enough to take some classes with your roommate, you probably have experienced professors associating you with one another. If your roommate tries to skip, the professor knows to come to you to ask where they are.

10. You have each others backs.

You both are not afraid to defend one another. If anyone tries to tear one of you down, you stand firm for the other. Anyone who has a beef with them has a beef with you.

11. You act differently when they aren't around.

People often come up to you when your roommate is gone and ask if you are all right. Your best friend helps to bring out the best in you and when they are gone, you just don't act the same. You aren't as loud, and you tend to feel like you'd enjoy the moment better if your roommate were there.

12. No matter what happens they are always there for you.

Even though you may have your ups and downs, You and your roommate share a special bond that cannot be broken. You laugh together, cry together and live together. This togetherness has brought you closer than you thought possible and helps you appreciate the other person even more.

Roommates for a little while, friends for a lifetime.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
