With the taste of summer on our tongues, us students across the country can feel one of the best times of the year coming for us. From summer vacations to sleepovers with your best friends five times a week, I am sure we can all agree there is no better feeling knowing the school year is almost over and our stresses will be set free. Here are 12 signs summer right around the corner:

1. You are constantly being nagged by your mom or dad about getting a summer job.

And every time they ask you say that you are working on it.

2. The motivation to do school work is almost non-existent.

You have had enough. The paper that was assigned two weeks ago is being completed the night before the due date and you are finishing online homework seconds before class starts.

3. You and your best friends from home are already making big plans for the next few months.

You cannot contain your excitement for the fun that is about to come.

4. The thought of being home for three to four months drives you crazy.

You love your family to pieces but sometimes too much time with them can make you want to pull your hair out.

5. You hit the gym a little more than usual in hopes of being "bikini ready."

You and the gym become a little closer as bikini season nears and you are not sure how to feel about it.

6. You and your friends reminisce about the crazy memories you made this past year.

You did some really dumb and crazy things but you wouldn't want it any other way.

7. As much as you love to hate them, you realize months away from you best friends will be tough.

You spent all school year with them and you aren't quite sure how you will make it without them for a few months.

8. We say goodbye to the boots and sweaters and hello to the itty bitty shorts and tank tops.

The higher the temperature the less clothes on our bodies.

9. You realize there is no school work for a long time.

You cannot explain how happy you are to not have a paper due every two weeks.

10. Your mind is already on permanent vacation.

The thought of the sand under your feet and sun rays beating down on you is consuming your mind.

11. You wonder how the school year went by so fast.

You are not quite sure how you got to this point, but all you are wishing is that time would slow down.

12. You are all ready to come back to school and get ready to do it all over again.

You are just getting ready to leave and you all ready want to go back.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
