12 Shows to Binge Watch on Netflix
Seeking Alpha

Nowadays, it seems that people tend to watch shows and movies on Netflix than on actual cable television. I personally love Netflix, and always seems to search for the perfect show to binge-watch for weeks or, sadly, just a few days. So, here are some of my favorite shows to watch on Netflix.

1. Friends

Because, duh.

Seasons: 10

Episode length: 22 minutes

2. How I Met Your Mother

Basically, the same concept of Friends. A bunch of friends, each with their own quirky personalities, that hang out all the time.

Seasons: 9

Episode length: 21 minutes

3. The Office

The Office took a while for me to get used to the humor and documentary-style of filming, but it’s definitely one of my top ten favorite TV shows. It’s based on the BBC hit series, but I personally think this one is way better.

Seasons: 9

Episode length: 21-40 minutes

4. Parks and Recreation

Oh, Parks and Rec. This might be my favorite show of all time. The cast is amazing and there isn’t a single episode that doesn’t make me laugh or smile.

Seasons: 7

Episode length: 21 minutes

5. New Girl

I had tried to watch New Girl a couple of times, but something always came up and then I would end up watching another show. I did, however, finally watched it all the way to the last season on Netflix. It can be a little slow at times, but it’s still a fun, quirky show about a girl living with four male roommates.

Seasons: 5

Episode length: 21-23 minutes

6. Supernatural

Supernatural is one of my guilty pleasures. I’ve probably seen every episode on Netflix at least five times. It’s basically about two brothers traveling across America killing all things supernatural. Plus, the two main actors who play the brothers are pretty cute too.

Seasons: 11

Episode Length: 40+ minutes

7. Gilmore Girls

When I saw that Netflix added Gilmore Girls I was so excited. I had not seen Gilmore girls since I was probably in middle school. I binge watched every season back then, but on DVD instead of Netflix.

Seasons: 7

Episode Length: 43+ minutes

8. The 100

The 100 is set in future time and 100 juvenile delinquents are sent to earth from space, 97 years after a nuclear war destroyed civilization on earth. There are parts that are slow and filled with teenage drama, but it still gets you hooked and wanting to watch more.

Seasons: 3

Episode Length: 40+ minutes

9. The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story

I was never able to watch The People v. O.J. Simpson when it came out on television so I was excited when I saw that it was on Netflix. I watched the whole season within three days. It was so amazing to get to “experience” the O.J. trial since I wasn’t even born when it happened in real life.

Seasons: 1

Episode Length: 40-60 minutes

10. Stranger Things

Stranger Things is a Netflix-original series that is set in the 1980s. A young boy disappears and his mother, friends, and basically the whole town try to search for answers to his disappearance. It has the suspense, drama, a supernatural elements, basically everything you could ask for a binge-worthy show.

Seasons: 1

Episode length: 41+ minutes

11. A Series of Unfortunate Events

Everyone probably knows that this show is based on the book series by Lemony Snicket. Count Olaf is played by Neil Patrick Harris who is amazing throughout the whole first season. I, sadly, never read the books growing up so I took me a minute to understand the concept of the story, and how it’s literally a series of unfortunate events for three orphans.

Seasons: 1

Episode length: 40+ minutes

12. Narcos

Narcos is based on the life of Pablo Escobar and the infamous Medellin drug cartel. It does have a lot of sex, drugs and language throughout the entire series. However, it is very suspenseful and keeps you thinking on what crazy plot twist is going to happened next.

Seasons: 2

Episode length: 40+ minutes

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
