With his plays and poems, William Shakespeare transformed the world of drama and literature forever by capturing the human spirit through tales of tragedy, comedy, and history. While Shakespeare's words are beautiful for those who have read his works, many also provide wisdom and encouragement, as these 12 quotes do.

1. Be great in act, as you have been in thought.

For as long as I can remember, I've been a planner. If you looked at my desk, you would find tons of post-it notes scattered around with scribbles of various to-do lists, ideas, and deadlines. As much as I prepare and imagine situations, however, they don't always turn out as I believe they will. Whether this happens to you or not, remember to try and display the confidence you had when you were planning for whatever it is that comes your way.

2. Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast.

Quick is often great, but slow can be good too. Take your time to figure out what is right for you. You'll be glad you did.

3. Our bodies are our gardens, to the which our wills are gardeners.

Listen to that voice guiding you and take in all the opinions it's giving.. Pay attention to what feels honest and let those truths take you where you're meant to go.

4. It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.

It's sometimes crazy to think about how much power we have over what we can do and become. But love this fact and take hold of your destiny.

5. Be to yourself as you would to your friend.

We all want love and kindness from the people we care about the most, but we should also treat ourselves the same way. Give yourself a pat on the back for all that you do.

6. And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.

This world is full of amazing things! Even on the hard days, remember that there is still so much goodness to be found.

7. Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.

Wherever you fall on this spectrum, with some hard work you can achieve whatever falls into your path. Be strong, be yourself, be great.

8. If we are true to ourselves, we cannot be false to anyone.

Sometimes, it is hardest to be honest with ourselves. But when we focus on the truth rather than lies, life is much more fulfilling--for us and others we encounter.

9. We know what we are, but know not what we may be.

We can plan all we want, but each day offers the opportunity to try or be something new. Embrace that fact and use it to become the best you possible.

10. To climb steep hills requires slow pace at first.

Those hills standing in your way are there for a reason. It may take some time to reach the top, but the end result will be worth it.

11. Live a little; comfort a little; cheer thyself a little.

Remember to enjoy the ride, but don't forget to pick others up when they need it and reward yourself once in a while too.

12. To unpathed waters, undreamed shores.

There's a whole world out there waiting for you. Dream big and let those dreams carry you far.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
