With extra time around the holidays, and the colder weather making excuses to stay in, a new book series may sound more appealing than a standalone book, either way, I've got you covered. Last week I shared my 12 Standalone Must Reads that are great to get you through a series burnout. Now I have 12 new series for you to get hooked on after you've recovered with one or two of the standalones. Warning: these series are highly addictive and you won't be able to stop once you start one.
1. The Wolves of Mercy Falls
I'm not a big fan of werewolves or fantasy, but I fell for this book very quickly. Sam is such an intriguing, mysterious character who quickly became my favorite.
2. The Mortal Instruments
As I said before, I've never been a huge fan of fantasy books but this series was one of the first exceptions. Again, the main characters are very addicting. Even though the books are all nearly 500 pages or more, I got through the entire series faster than many others. The movie and the T.V. show leave some key parts out (meaning you need to read the book first), but I still love them all.
3. Delirium
A dystopia about challenging societal norms.
4. Matched
A dystopia about challenging societal norms. Similar yet completely different from Delirium, you will have no regrets reading both.
5. The Iron Fey
I went through a fantasy kick in middle school and this was one of those series. For some reason I was quickly hooked on it, rooting for a love in the love triangle as soon as it appeared. Its unique world and twist on faeries makes it all the more interesting. I would read the entire series all over again and not get bored.
6. The Grisha
The world of this book is something completely new and a bit confusing at first, but easy to catch on.
7. Jasper Dent
A serial killer father and a new killer on the loose. The ideal series for someone who likes violence and mystery.
8. The Lunar Chronicles
A science fiction twist on the classical princess stories. Fascinating and even more so once the stories start to connect...
9. Reckoners
If you like si-fi, this book is for you. It's a dystopia about a society where only some people have powers and they rule the world, but not everyone is okay with that...
10. The 5th Wave
They did an okay job with this movie, but the book is definitely better.
11. Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children
I hope they made the movie as good as this book. It's peculiar for sure, but interesting enough to get you hooked.
