Amidst my self-love challenge, I have found the words that push me to appreciate myself more than I do already. For the days you feel like you are just not enough, think otherwise, and use these words to help you believe it.

1. "You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first." -Unknown

If you are filled with nothing, you will never be able to give any part of yourself to the things you love. Keep yourself in your best interest.

2. "You don't have a right to the cards you believe you should have been dealt. You have an obligation to play the HELL out of the ones you're holding." -Cheryl Strayed

Sometimes we get a curve ball. Sometimes we get 52. If we sit and wish for what may not ever come, we may be waiting an awfully long time. Whatever is dealt to you, embrace it like the wonderful human you are.

3. "And I said to my body, softly, 'I want to be your friend.' It took a long breath and replied, 'I have been waiting my whole life for this'." - Unknown

Why neglect the one thing that belongs entirely to us? Love it for all that it is and make it be the best it can be, internally and externally.

4. "Sometimes we are taken into troubled waters not to drown but to be cleansed." -Unknown

Adversity challenges us, yet refreshes our mindset and our vision. Welcome it with open arms.

5. "Sometimes your soulmate is yourself. Sometimes you have to be the love of your life until you discover that type of love in someone else." -R.H. Sin

Our reliance on others limits the love that we can have for ourselves. When we see the best in ourself, we can let others see that too. And if they don't? To hell with them.

6. "If you're searching for that one person that will change your life, take a look in the mirror." -Unknown

Once again, only you can be the one to make the changes in your life. You are the method behind your madness. You are the one who decides exactly who it is you want to be.

7. "Put yourself at the top of your to-do list every single day and the rest will fall into place." -Unknown

We put ourselves to the bottom of the priority pile, collecting dust and becoming worn out. Don't forget about your worth, ever.

8. "Inhale confidence, exhale doubt." -Unknown

Enough said. Own it.

9. "You owe yourself the love that you so freely give to other people." -Unknown

The givers give too much and receive too little. Fill those voids by loving yourself with your whole heart.

10. "I don't chase people anymore. I learned that I'm here, and I'm important. I'm not going to run after people to prove that I matter." -Unknown

Why seek out others' acceptance when you can be yourself and let them accept you exactly the way you are.

11. "Sometimes you just have to give yourself the pep talks. Like, hello, you are a bas ass b*tch, don't be sad, you're doing great, I love you." -Unknown

BECAUSE IT'S THE TRUTH.

12. "I just woke up one day and decided I didn't want to feel like that anymore, or ever again. So I changed. Just like that." -Unknown

You are in control of your very being. Wake up and choose you, every single day. You are worth it, I promise

Now, go give yourself a hug and remember how much you deserve to be loved by your very own self.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
