Sometimes it's hard get through a rough day, and you resort to looking around for a little "pick me up" and a few words of wisdom to make you feel better and more like yourself again. I get it, when you're a struggling college student (like me) not everyday is a great day. Even if you're not religious at all, you still need something to believe in something to help you keep faith during hard times. It can be hard to not see yourself as drowning during these times, but there are always words of advice present to help guide you in the right direction, it's just a matter of knowing where to find them. You don't have to be religious to believe that something more than yourself is present a guiding you through your life. When you're experiencing these negative feelings, and need to hear something that restores your faith, here are a few religious quotes that even non religious people can live by.

When you're worried:

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

"Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

When you're looking for positivity:

"And your life will be brighter than the noonday, it's darkness will be like the morning." Job 11:17

When you're looking for strength:

"I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

" God is within her, she will not fall." Psalms 46:5

"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you" Isaiah 43:2

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

When you're looking for confidence in yourself:

"She is clothed in strength and dignity, and laughs without fear of the future." Proverbs 31:25

"You are not defined by your mistakes. You are defined by God. He loves you no matter what." Romans 8:38

"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." 2 Timothy 1:7

When you can't understand why things are happening the way they are:

"Your pain has a purpose." Philippians 1:29

"Don't mistake God's patience for His absence. His timing is perfect, and His presence is constant. He is always with you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Whether you are fairly religious or not at all, there is not a single verse from this list that won't be able to guide and help you through the toughest of times. Take these words of wisdom as you may, and know that you are never alone.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
