12 Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Than Humans
Ryan Hickey

Dogs really are a man's best friend. Having a pet can teach us all so many valuable lessons. Dogs are selfless and are always up for an adventure. There is no better feeling than snuggling up with a puppy. They cherish every moment with their owners even when they don't get an extra treat. Dogs are here to remind us to enjoy everyday because tomorrow is never promised. In the end worrying doesn't help anything. We should all try to be happy, to love, be loyal, and maybe even eat some grass.

1. They still kiss you good morning even with your stinky morning breath.

Let's be honest, we do not even want to smell our own breath in the morning. Your dog loves you so much they will risk toxic fumes to make sure you wake up feeling loved.

2. They don’t get mad when you leave the toilet seat up.

There will be no nagging like your girlfriend, sister, mom, aunt, or wife. A gigantic ceramic water bowl is doggie heaven.

3. They're always up to try your terrible food creations.

When no one else can stand to take a bite of your failed vegan no cheese, no cream fettuccine Alfredo, your dog will gladly finish it up. They might even beg for seconds!

4. This gym partner will never say no to a run.

Humans can be lazy and unmotivated. Your dog will always be willing to get in a quick jog or even go for a walk in the rain. Dogs are the best unpaid personal trainers ever.

5. They will always be happy to see you.

Dogs will never comment on how tired you look or lack of makeup. No matter your state, they will greet you as if you haven't seen them in years whether you have or not! It never gets old.

6. Puppies are cuter than babies.

I know some moms out there will fight this, but we all know it is the truth. Puppy dog eyes and a little butt wiggle can beat a drooling baby. Even babies know it!

7. Nothing compares to a good old dog hug.

Do not get me wrong, a human bear hug can be great but most of the time they are awkward. A dog will never give you the side uncomfortable hug.

8. They never mean to hurt your feelings.

Humans can be really mean and most of the time it is intentional. Dogs are not perfect, but when they leave muddy paw prints around the house, it's not for revenge.

9. They are Fluffy.

This point is pretty self-explanatory, but I have never seen a fluffy human. Is there anything better than snuggling a ball of fluff?

10. They will never judge you.

If you end up in bed eating a pint of ice cream and watching "The Notebook," they will be happy to join. They will be glad to catch any drops as you shovel the ice cream into your mouth. In addition, no comments about wasting your Friday night in.

11. You can tell them your darkest secrets and they will never say a word.

Humans are pretty untrustworthy but a dog will keep your secret forever. This also has a lot to do with the fact that they cannot speak. Or can they...

12. They will love you unconditionally forever.

Your dog relies on you every minute of every day. They will be eternally grateful for the amazing life you provide. Dogs are one of the purest creatures on earth, they are a gift. Take advantage and go experience pure unconditional love.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
