There is nothing like a summer in northern Michigan, Kid Rock can even tell you in his hit song "All Summer Long". No place is like the small town of Charelvoix. The population grows from 3,000 to 30,000 in the summer months, and the community welcomes the "fudgies" with plenty to do. Whether you are looking to shop, eat, hike or just have fun, Charlevoix, Michigan is the town to visit. Put this town on your bucket list for places to travel and I promise you will not regret it!
1. Get fresh at the Farmers Market
From 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., take a walk though town on Bridge St. to pick up fresh pastries, jams, honey, fruits, veggies, etc. The products are all produced and sold locally! You can also experience children's activities and buy fresh flowers for your home.
2. Earl Young Mushroom Houses
Visit these unique bunch of houses located here in Charlevoix. You can take a self guided tour or check out the Charlevoix Historical Society for a guided tour and more information!
3. Lakes
What town can say they have three connecting lakes? Rent a house on Lake Charlevoix, Round Lake, or Lake Michigan, or just take out your boats and jet skis for a beautiful day out on the water.
4. Beaches
Head on down to your choice of Lake Michigan Beach, McSauba Dunes, Depot Beach, or Ferry Beach for a fun filled day. Ferry and Michigan have concession stands too!
5. Sunsets
Bring your family down to Lake Michigan or take a cruise out on the boat for an unforgettable sunset view. No place beats a Charlevoix, Michigan sunset. You can also hop on an evening sunset cruise on the Sunshine sailboat or Keweenaw Star boat.
6. Castle Farms

7. Fishermans Island State Park
With cedar bogs, and a park on the lake, there is so much to do! Go camping, take a hike, go for a swim in Lake Michigan, explore and climb some dunes, but don't forget your bugs spray!
8. The Weathervane

10. The Landing
After a season of renovation, this famous waterfront restaurant is back open! Boat or drive on over to this restaurant for a cocktail, some food, or both. Located on Lake Charleovix's south arm, this restaurant has its own character snd charm that you don't want to miss out on. 11. Movies and Concerts
Set up some blankets to claim your spot or set up some chairs at Charlevoix's bandshell (Odmark Performance Pavillon). Check out Charlevoix's website for a list of concerts and movie nights offered in the park. Its perfect for family nights out. Lactated in downtown, it offers gorgeous views of the Charlevoix Marina and Round Lake.
