As one of the last states to join the U.S., it's one of the most interesting places on earth. With all of the fascinating things on Hawaii, why wouldn't you want to live there?
1. The weather.
It can be sunny on one side of the island and pouring rain on the other. It's the best of both worlds.
2. The ocean.
I love the water so to me there's no better place to be than on a tropical island surrounded by water
3. The drinks.
Whether it's a Mai Tai or a virgin Piña Colada, Hawaiians know how to make delicious fruity drinks.
4. The food.
On that note, there's nothing else like shrimp from a truck on the North Shore or poke and pupus on the beach.
5. The people.
Everyone in Hawaii is either on vacation or so relaxed they live in a place where everyone is on vacation. Either way, everyone is so nice and welcoming you'll never want to leave.
6. The surfing.
As someone who's proud of the fact that she can even stand up on a board, I am in no way an expert. But the North Shore has some of the best waves, so where better to learn than here.
7. The other water sports.
Paddle boarding, snorkeling, and windsurfing all on the same beach? Yes please.
8. The 'aloha' spirit.
Deadlines are fluid and people move at a slower pace. Your blood pressure lowers the minute you step foot here and people are extremely welcoming.
9. The history
Hawaii is one of those places that went from their own monarchy or being British to being American. Every island has its own rich history that goes back to its Polynesian heritage.
10. The landscape.
Where else can you find a volcano on the same island as beautiful white sand beaches and tropical plants?
11. The beaches.
All beaches in Hawaii legally have to be public. You don't have to own a house on the beach to experience its beauty.
12. The music.
How can your heart not melt when you hear Israel Kamakawiwoʻole or Don Ho?
It doesn't matter if you can't surf or burn easily, either way, Hawaii offers the kind of calm lifestyles that most people are looking for.
