12 Reasons Why You Should Talk To Strangers On The Internet

Ever since you were young, your parents probably told you to never talk to strangers online while giving you the internet safety talk. I'm glad that I was a rebel from an early age and didn't listen. Being cute-boy obsessed and a music lover, I had "fan accounts" on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

Actually, through social media and online interactions, I met some of my closest friends...they just happened to live hundreds to thousands of miles away.

Here are a couple reasons why internet best friend's are the bee's knees:

1. You're both usually the same exact person.

Since you probably met through a similar interest, chances are everything you/enjoy- they do as well. Same personality, sense of humor and attitude= now you basically have a twin.

2. They'll back you up if you're ever in a twitter fight.

3. They're easy to talk to about anything- and have unbiased opinions when you rant.

Depending on the situation, they'll support you on your actions while your real-life friends will possibly judge you (especially if they think it'll affect them too).

4. They're always there for you.

Despite distance, time zones or time apart, they're always a phone call away.

5. They're incredible storytellers.

They always have crazy/funny things going on so if you decided to stay in one night and you're super bored, you can live vicariously through them.

6. They're usually funny- you can use them for laughs.

The best laughter comes from the comfort of your own bed.

7. They'll expand your knowledge and give you a different perspective of the world.

8. They'll be your biggest supporter.

They'll constantly gass you up with heart eyes under your Instagram selfies and retweet them on Twitter.

9. If you're fortunate enough, they'll give you an opportunity to travel to see them.

I've gone to different states and countries JUST to see the people I care about the most.

10. Their family becomes your second family- and vise versa.

My best friends' family has become my own. Her parents take care of me as if I were their daughter. Her siblings look out for me as well.

11. If you're REALLY lucky, they'll have a super cute brother that you can end up marrying.

Victoria Justice said it best, my best friend's brother is the one for me.

12.You both can create cute and special memories through unique adventures.

With traveling, comes wild adventures. I've sat outside a concert venue in Chicago for hours in 3 degree weather cuddled up next to my internet BFF. Later that night, we witnessed a fight break out on stage, just for us to contemplate driving five hours after the show just to see the same artists the next day.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
