Why New Jersey Is The Best State

New Jersey gets the best of all four seasons.

Summertime in NJ is warm enough to enjoy a day (heck, the whole Summer) at the beautiful Jersey shore. Autumn stays quite warm well into the season, and brings beautiful colors from the changing leaves on the trees. Winter does not get as brutally cold as a Winter in Upstate New York does, but cold enough for plenty of beautiful snowy days. Spring is the perfect intermediate with beautiful weather in the 70's, and blooming flowers and trees.

Almost anywhere in New Jersey is just a short drive from the world's most popular cities.

Whether you are in North or South Jersey, you are not more than an hour or so away from either New York City or Philadelphia. While some may have opinions as to which city is better, they are both some of the most popular.

NJ also holds some of it's own beautiful cities.

Why live in New York City when you can have the best view of NYC for half the price of living in the actual city? Not only is it cheaper than New York, but Hoboken has some of the best bars and restaurants perfect for any occasion.

The Jersey Shore

Contrary to popular belief, the Jersey shore is not all about fist bumping.

But rather home to over 300 miles of beautiful beaches and beach towns such as Asbury Park, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Long Beach Island, Ocean City, and Cape May.

People travel from all over, near and far, to spend time at the famous Jersey shore. There is truly nothing like it. By the way, people who live in New Jersey go "down the shore" not "to the beach."

Some of the most famous individuals are New Jersey Natives.

The boss. Bruce Springsteen can be seen very often hanging out at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park and will sometimes get on stage and preform for everyone!

Jon Bon Jovi.

Whitney Houston.

And the great Frank Sinatra.

Rutgers, the state university of New Jersey is older than America itself.

Rutgers University was chartered as Queen’s College on November 10, 1766, while America was founded on July 4, 1776. That right! Rutgers is almost ten years older than America itself!

Rutgers is also the birthplace of college football.

College football began with Rutgers Queensmen versus the Princeton Tigers (formerly College of New Jersey). Rutgers won against Princeton, 6 - 4!

The Giants and the Jets are really New Jersey teams.

Metlife stadium is actually located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, not New York.

New Jersey has it's own iconic figure.

New Jersey's hockey team, The NJ Devils did not get its mascot randomly. The Jersey Devil is nearly as famous as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, Nessie!

Jersey girls don't pump gas.

It isn't that people in New Jersey are lazy, it is actually illegal to pump your own gas.

New Jersey holds some of the most beautiful and historic towns.

Not all of New Jersey is full of busy highway systems and dirty cities. The Garden State is a very unique corner of the East Coast and is truly worth checking out.

You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
