We all experience everyday life and all of the stresses that come with it. It seems in this day and age people of the younger generation use alcohol to ease those stresses. I'm not going to lie, I'm famous for the "I need a beer" one liner. But I think when you are a woman in your twenties it is incredibly important to take time out of your busy life to experience things in a different way. My new way is traveling and here are my top 12 reasons as to why it is important to travel with your girlfriends:

1. No pressure

Usually when you go on trip there is some kind of pressure to do certain things or so act certain ways around different type of people. But when you go away with your closest friends they are in tune with you and how you work, allowing you the most stress free get away.

2. Happy hours

Happy hours are a god send. I mean if you are of age you know that social drinking is fun but it kills your bank account. That is unless you find a great happy hour! The best part about going with girl friends is that you can enjoy yourself and not have to worry about what might be next after.

3. Pushing each other out of your comfort zones

Your girl friends usually know where you are comfortable and with that comes challenges. One of the best things about traveling is allowing yourself the chance to try things that you normally wouldn't try. With your friends there, you're more likely than ever to be shoved out of your comfort zone.

4. Keep each other in check

It could be your spending habits, the shot that is going to put you over the edge, or the creepy guy at the end of the bar that looks better than you think thanks to Jose; but your GFs are going to make sure that you are in check the whole time.

5. Freedom

This is a big one. Friends are understanding. They just get it. And on top of that there are never going to hold you back. There is a certain sense of freedom that comes with girl trips that make them that much better.

6. Boy talk

It honestly doesn't matter what age you are, if you're single or taken, married or not, girls talk to girls about boys. Could be the Ex that screwed them over, could be about the guy at 3'oclock, or it could actually be something nice that happened to her. But regardless, girls talk and what better way than in a totally new place.

7. Total honesty

Another great thing about getting away with friends is that there is a sense of comfort and honesty.

8. True vulnerability

It's really easy to be uncomfortable if you're traveling with people that you aren't 100% yourself around. Traveling in this style allows you to be candid and vulnerable and lets you experience things deeper than you would if you geld back.

9. Complete relaxation

Deep breaths, no pressure, happy hours, fun adventures and 110% relaxation.

10. Allows you to reconnect

A lot of the time if you are in a relationship friendships can suffer. We don't always intend for that to happen but when you live a busy life and try to balance a lot of relationships, things can get complicated. Leaving all the boys at home will allow you to reconnect and remember what the friendship was like before life got crazy.

11. Treat yo self

When you go on vacation there are certain things that you want to splurge on and sometimes you need your girlfriends to say "Treat Yo Self"!

12. New perspectives

There is nothing better than going somewhere new with old people. It helps you to reconnect with the people who help you see the world in a new light.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
