12 Reasons Why You And Your Friends Have A Great Relationship

"So no one told you life was gonna be this way Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A. It's like you're always stuck in second gear When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, but I'll be there for you."

"You and me, chasing down the dream. We're one and the same." They say opposites attract in any sort of relationship whether it is a romantic or friendship bond. This could not be any more true, yet false. Though my friends and I fall under different areas of the spectrum, we all have things that lead us to bond with one another. When thinking of your friends, think of the similarities you both hold and how that has caused your friendship to thrive.

1. You all have a love for food that is undeniable.

Whether it is 1PM or 3AM, you can find your circle of friends demolishing any resemblance of food. The best time for you all is when you are enjoying the food so much that the room is silent with the exception of the heavy breathing from the massive bites.

2. You are each other's alarm clocks.

When that 8AM class comes a little sooner than you expected, you can count on your friends to wake you by calling until you answer, randomly showing up at your house, or creating some contraption that makes it nearly impossible not to wake up.

3. You help each other decide what should and should NOT be worn in public.

Though you may not all have the same fashion sense, you can easily pick out that knee high socks, sandals, and cargo shorts should never been worn together.

4. You have great workout partners... sometimes.

You all find it difficult to go to the gym regularly, remember that bikini season begins soon and you have to go from being a potato to a Greek goddess. You motivate each other to keep going and push through though you feel like passing out on the gym floor.

5. You can do the dumbest things together with no judgement at all.

Whether it's screaming "A Thousand Miles" at the top of your lungs at a stop light with the windows down or randomly break dancing in the middle of the street, you never let each other do stupid things alone.

6. You are each other's taxis every once in a while.

You all understand. Some nights get crazy. When you get the call at 8AM on a Saturday morning, you know it's time to throw on some sweat pants and pick up your deserted friend. On the other hand, on those days you would rather eat broccoli than get out of bed to drive, your friends pull up at your house screaming for you to get outside.

7. You make each other laugh uncontrollably.

On the days you can't seem to make your way to the gym, you find that laughing is an even better work out. Whether it's a meme you saw on the internet or an incident that you recall at the moment, you find yourselves unable to stop laughing.

8. You each have shoulders to cry on in times of need.

After a heartbreak or when it's that time of the month, emotions run high. It makes those times a lot easier knowing that you have people to listen to you, dry your tears, and remind you that everything will be okay.

9. You end up with more parents than just your biological ones.

You bring each toilet paper when you run out at the house and serve soup and cough medicine when you're feeling a bit under the weather. Someone always remembers to put sunscreen on your back because they remember how fair your skin is. You love and protect each other like family and will keep each other safe no matter the cost.

10. You have the greatest adventures together.

From hiking the longest trail known to man to jamming out to "Caroline" on the way to your newest escapade, you never have a dull moment together. Every day is something new and exciting.

11. You always have people on your side.

When it feels like the world is against you, you have the most wonderful people guiding you to be the best version of yourself. You encourage each other and remind each other that you're never alone.

12. You each have the greatest best friends in the world.

"I'll be there for you when the rain starts to pour. I'll be there for you like I've been there before. I'll be there for you cause you're there for me too." I am forever grateful for the friends that I have been blessed with. Thank you for all you do for and with me.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
