Move over, man's best friend!

12 Reasons Why Cats Are Better Than People

Let me make a quick disclaimer before you begin reading: I love both cats and dogs equally. Throughout my life, I have always been labeled as a cat person. I squeal every time I see a cat, I look at pictures of cats to relieve stress, and my own fiancé has a multitude of cats. After having the same cat for over 15 years, I can say she is the best friend a girl can have. Why is she the best? Because she is a cat!

1. Cats are the fluffiest.

Do you know any humans that are fluffy? I didn't think so.

2. Cats never lie to you.

The only lying a cat will ever do is on its back to get some belly rubs.

3. Cats will never cheat on you.

Unless you're this guy named Vinny, who hangs out at two different houses. But otherwise, I have never heard of a cat that cheats.

4. Cats will tell you how they are feeling.

Happy? They will purr a lot. Angry? They will hiss. Hungry? They will tell you. No mixed signals between you and your cat!

5. Cats are quiet (usually).

Except for the occasional loud meower, cats are pretty quiet. In comparison, I have never heard of a cat meowing loudly whenever the doorbell rings.

6. Cats always have an ear to listen to your problems.

Since cats can hear about twice as more Hertz than we can, they definitely won't miss a word of you complaining about your drama with Rebecca from Geology class.

7. Cats are very low-maintenance.

Last time I checked, all a cat needs is a litter box, food, and water. And love, of course.

8. Cats will support you in all of your decisions.

For those times when you just got dumped and you want to stay home and watch Netflix instead of going out to the bars with your friends. Cats will always be on your side, no matter the situation.

9. Cats love when you buy them nifty gifts.

No need to worry about a cat throwing away a gift they don't like! They will always use the gift to it's full potential.

10. Cats are experts at snuggling.

They look cuter snuggling together than humans do, honestly.

11. Cats will sometimes do things that can make us chuckle.

Whether it was intentional or fully accidental, we will always find cats funny.

12. Cats will always love us, no matter what!

At the end of the day, cats depend on you for their survival. No matter how they show it, your cat does love you!

So whether you are a cat lover or a even dog lover, let's celebrate how great an addition animals are to our lives. Although they can frustrate us at times, having a furry friend find it's forever home is definitely worth every struggle of having a pet.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
