I love fall for a number of reasons. Here's a list of some of the reasons why I can't wait for the temperature to drop!

12. The temperature is cooler.

Some people like it warm and sunny, and while that's nice, where I live the heat is oppressive and I'm not about that life. I can't wait for the air to be cooler and the mornings to be crisp.

11. Fire pit hangouts and bonfires.

Now, I know quite a lot of people who do these things in summer, but I just can't be bothered to do it when it's hot. I love the smell of burning wood mixed with cold fall air.

10. I can actually go outside.

Despite what you may think I actually enjoy the outdoors. But I don't like the outdoors when I'm melting. So when it's cooler I can go outside and not melt. Plus looking at all the beautiful trees is pretty entertaining.

9. Fall/Winter Fashion.

Some people love crop tops and sundresses, and while I appreciate those very much, I am more comfortable in fall/winter clothing. Sweaters, jackets, hoodies, scarves... Yes yes yes!

8. Seasonal Flavors.

This time of year is all about the pumpkin spice. While I do like it, I am not as fond as it as quite a few others seem to be. But nevertheless, seasonal flavors excite me. Because it means cooler weather is coming.

7. Holidays!

I've always said that my favorite quarter of the year is October, November, and December...because of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!

6. Holiday movies.

Something that I always look forward to during this time of year is the movies they play on TV. I myself am a fan of the classic horror movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th and others of that nature, and seeing as I don't own them myself, it's nice that they're always on this time of year.

5. Food.

I love cooler weather food. From pies to soups to caramel apples, with the change of leaves comes the change of menu. I love spiced, apple-y flavors that come with the season (not to mention my mom's butternut squash soup is really good).

4. Back to school.

Now, for many people (especially younger kids and possibly some teachers), this is a nightmare. But for me, a college student, my back to school experience is a lot more different, and I actually look forward to school.

3. Star gazing.

While there are a lot of comet showers in the summer, when it gets cooler outside, I just enjoy it more. Get a big blanket, drive out to the middle of nowhere, lay on the ground, cuddle up to someone, and just look at the big expanse of wonder above you. That's the life.

2. Nesting (in your bed, that is).

I am a member of the blanket hoarder squad, so when the weather gets cooler I just pile em on me.

1. Spending more time with people you love.

Since cooler weather also means holidays, it means spending more time with loved ones. Whether it's with friends or family, it doesn't matter. Fall brings me a sense of togetherness I don't otherwise feel during the year.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
