12 Realities Of College Midterms

When one of these things was taking place today, I had the idea for this article. I'm sure all of us college students have encountered at least one of these problems, if not more, during midterm season.

1. Meals

Sometimes you gotta eat what you can. Other times you totally forget to each lunch, or dinner. You eat when you have time.

2. Coffee

Coffee, in times like these, is essential. Of course, for the people who don't like coffee, there's always tea and/or energy drinks. When you don't have one of those, what is life?

3. Crafting

It's a good way to relieve stress and calm nerves. Also, you end up with a cute decoration to hang on your wall. Even though it may take up a bit more time than studying would.

4. Sleep

It's good to get at least a small amount of sleep more than it is to pull an all-nighter and get coffee in the morning. But let's be honest, who has time to sleep?

5. Falling asleep with a book (or laptop) on your chest

In light of actually getting sleep, I definitely dozed off with my computer on my chest the other night, as well as a book wide open next to me.

6. Actually having midterms

Most of my professors usually have tests throughout the semester, so we don't have a midterm. This semester I have at least three midterms. WHYYYY?!?!

7. Staying focused

Focusing is definitely an issue, especially when your friends are out having fun with each other and you've got an exam the next day that you need to study for.

8. Messy rooms

When all you're doing is studying and sleeping, your rooms get messy. There even might be something growing over in the corner, but who's got time to check it out and take care of it?

(P.S. Mom, I'm not letting things grow in my room. Don't worry.)

9. Not being able to speak well

"I can English REAL well," is probably my most famous line when I'm tired.

10. Studying for hours and still not knowing anything on the study guide

"What is the social game this culture is playing?" Ok, well I may know the four different games and how to tell them apart, but I needed an example.

11. Showering at 2pm on a Saturday

During the week you're studying and sleeping, so who has time for a shower? Catch one during the weekend, when you can't sleep in any longer and need to get out of bed and stop being lazy.

12. Having to do it all over again in a month and a half

Finals. Yup, you read that right. Finals are right around the corner. Everything on this list will start up again, probably to an even more intense degree.

I wish you all the best luck on midterms and finals! Remember that you are a strong, independent student who doesn't need an F!

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
