I'll be completely honest by saying I'm an absolute mess. I barely scrape by most weeks and I can get all the inspiration and motivation I can get. I spend a large chunk of my free time (i.e. my procrastination time) watching videos of otters and reading the same 50 or so quotes by my favorite characters, poets, scholars, etc... Some I like because I really identify with them and the people who said them; others I like because they're something that helps me center myself or that helps me find direction. Whichever it be, I'd like to think that they've all helped me grow as a person, so I picked a few out to share with you and hopefully spread some good vibes around.
1. We'll start it off with my personal hero, Vincent Van Gogh
This quote really gets me. I find my greatest peace and inspiration when I'm underneath a starry sky. Finding that happy place where you can center yourself is really important.
2. Obviously, we've gotta get some Oprah action in there too
Oprah gets it. Find the people who will cheer you on as you chase your dreams, not the ones who will slow you down.
3. And don't forget Betty White
This is so vital! Outlook, attitude, or whatever you want to call it is the most important step towards happiness, and us optimists have that on lock.
4. We can all relate to The Doctor
Doctor Who is full of memorable quotes, but this one gets me. I think it's a fantastic thing to aspire to.
5. This great advice
This one requires no caption, it says it all.
6. If people are getting you down, Einstein has got some advice for you
7. And here's a reminder to not waste your time on those people in the first place.
They aren't worth it.
8. And Tyrion Lannister is weighing in too
9. Kid President has the inspiration you need to be a better person
# Goals.
10. And a double dose of Pokémon wisdom too
I grew up with Pokémon, and it holds a really special place in my heart. These quotes have stuck with me since I was a small child, and I feel like they've helped shape me into the person I am now. The message is clear: we're all in this together. Things like race, religion, gender, sexuality, etc. shouldn't divide us but rather bring us together.
