This goes out to all of the day time nappers and night time dreamers.
1. You wake up wondering when you can sleep next.
Sometimes you want to pay attention-you need to pay attention- but despite your best efforts you start to drift into the clouds and then feel really awkward trying to catch what was said as you regain awareness.
2. You get random bursts of energy that do not last very long.
One
minute you are bounding off to your destination feeling up to par, but
the longer you sit/stand in one area the sensation of being awake begins
to leave and you are left with drooping eyes and false hope.
3. Tiredness hits not matter how much sleep you have had.
Okay, obviously three hours did not work, which makes sense. If you get 10 on the weekend it is probably because you "overslept". Then you try for eight hours expecting perfection, but alas you hit moments throughout your day when you feel like resting, but it is unjustified because you hit the magic number.
4. Reading/taking notes is your worst nightmare.
Looking
down is a very risky action when it means your eyes are practically
already shut, which is very unhelpful when you are in a boring class,
doing a tedious job, or doing homework and you need to be alert.
5. Zoning out is a real problem.
Sometimes you want to pay attention-you need to pay attention- but despite your
best efforts you start to drift into the clouds and then feel really awkward trying to catch what was said as you regain awareness.
6. Making sense is also an issue.
The mind is just too foggy to remember that one word, even though it is on the tip of your tongue...making you sound kind of crazy.
7. Napping is your hobby.
The problem with this is, as glorious as naps feel they also take away amounts of productivity and social time. You wake up feel good, but also disconnected or stressed.
8. You could fall asleep anywhere.
Classroom, recliner, back seat of the car, floor...literally anywhere! The tiredness has taken over.
9. You lack motivation for any serious act.
Because of course, once you get settled all you want to do is sleep. How can you get yourself to do things if you are exhausted.
10. You fear falling asleep in professional places.
It just can't happen, what will people think? But it seems so hard to keep...eyes...open.
11. Sometimes you resort to drastic measures.
If you need to stay awake sometimes you pace the floor, take 10 minute naps, or splash water on your face. You may need to do whatever it takes.
12. Weekends are your absolute favorite.
Mainly because you can turn off your alarm clock and sleep, sleep, sleep.
