Every college student knows how stressful and jam-packed with work the spring semester is. Between realizing another year is almost over, registering for classes, registering for housing, and trying to figure out how to pack and move out once again, stress becomes more of a personality trait rather than a feeling. Here is a list of twelve different places Massachusetts has that can offer any student some fresh air and a chance to relax.

1. Hampton Ponds, Westfield, MA

One of the best discoveries I've made in western Mass! Settled in Westfield, MA, Hampton Ponds is a quiet beach that is great to sit and enjoy the fresh air and the sun. You can either sit on the sand or grab one of the many picnic tables and do some homework or read.

2. Sanderson Brook Falls, Chester, MA

World’s End is 251-acres of land in Hingham, MA. While visiting World’s End, you get the joining together of Hingham Bay and Boston Harbor. While enjoying the walking trails, you’ll be able to see the skyline of Boston.

3. Aquinnah Cliffs, Martha’s Vineyard, MA

A day on Martha’s Vineyard is always fun. The Aquinnah Cliffs are one of the best views that the island has to offer, and that's saying a lot for an island that is beautiful all on its own.

4. Castle Island, South Boston, MA

Take the walk around Castle Island’s 22-acre path. Visiting Castle Island, you get beautiful views of Boston Harbor and the skyline. If you’re visiting during lunch-time, don’t forget to stop at Sully’s! The line you’ll wait in is totally worth it.

5. Mount Greylock, MA

Mount Greylock is a summit about an hour and a half north of Westfield, MA. It is a great place to hike and enjoy the breathtaking views of Western Mass.

6. Race Brook Falls, Sheffield, MA

Race Brook Falls is another beautiful hike with a view in Sheffield, MA. With all different trails and endless different adventures, Race Brook is worth the trip!

7. The Gym

I know, I know, the gym isn’t always fun. However, the gym is a great place to get in a good work out and sweat out all your frustration.

Grab some friends and head to any one of these beautiful places! Not only will your stress be relieved, but you'll be able to experience some place new and beautiful. Happy traveling!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
