Pinterest is full of fantastic and beautiful DIY projects that make everyone want to sprint over to their local craft store and drop a wad of cash. Ranging from recipes to repurposing old furniture, there is nothing that you can't find on here. Unfortunately, many of these projects look easier than they actually are. The projects can require extensive time and effort, not to mention a large variety of materials that aren't always commonly found in the home. So your best effort might turn out to be a mess if you aren't highly skilled like some of the amazing creators that share their ideas with us. It's always hilarious to see people's efforts, even though I know that I really couldn't do much better.
1. This Admirable, Yet Despicable Attempt.
I didn't think I could hate minions more than I already do. Now I do.
2. Were You Really Trying With This Hedgehog Cake?
Hedgehogs are usually so adorable. Not this one, though.
3. A Cute Toddler Project Gone Wrong.
Well, at least you can call this a bird's nest or something.
4. Lights...Baby...Nope. Never Mind.
Is anyone going to question why these parents are allowing their baby to put electrical wires in its mouth?
5. Crayon Art. Not For The Weak.
I've always wanted to try this. Not anymore.
6. Someone Forgot To Grease The Iron.
I honestly can't figure out how this happened.
7. They Forgot To Grease This Tin, Too.
Again, what did you think was going to happen if you didn't grease your muffin tin?
8. That's Not Very Pretty Rainbow.
This doesn't even look that hard. Come on, guys.
9. That Really Doesn't Look Right.
Ew. The first picture definitely looks more delicious.
10. 14 Layers Of Mishap.
This one isn't even close.
11. Oh, Deer (PUNNY, RIGHT?).
They may not look like reindeer, but they are still pretty cute.
12. Still Cute, I Guess.
I didn't know that a baby could even be that peaceful during a photo shoot.
While Pinterest might be one of the greatest forms of social media ever, DIY projects are harder than they look. That being said, I guess the take-home message from this is that it doesn't matter how well it turns out, at least you tried. If you want to do something special, don't let anything hold you back. And you still get a funny story and some great pictures if your project does turn out a little bit different. I think that making the memories is more important than the final outcome anyways. But still, I'm thankful for the wonderful failures that end up happening anyways.
