12 Pieces Of Advice From Carrie Bradshaw

One of our favorite NYC fashion icons also happened to know just about everything from boys to love to life and everything in between. Here are 12 pieces of advice from Sex and the City’s own Carrie Bradshaw.

1.“Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with.”

Carrie always knew that the most important thing a girl could have was her friends. And no matter how hard it is to believe it, our best friends will always hold a place in our heart that a guy never could.

2. "Only two phrases can change a woman’s mood: ‘I love you’ and ‘50% off.’”

The first time he says it makes our hearts flutter, and everytime you get an email from Tobi about a 50% off flash sale, a part of you is reborn again.

3. "I like my money where I can see it: hanging in my closet."

Let's not forget that Carrie was a fashion icon after all. She never forgot to teach us the importance of spending what you have on something that will make a fashion statement.

4. "Here's to the guys that love us, the losers that lost us and the lucky bastards that get to meet us."

My personal favorite. Carrie celebrates every type of guy that has been in her life, and always remembers that they are the ones that are lucky to know someone like her. Not the other way around.

5. "I don't have time for regrets, only fun."

Maybe she did write for a huge column, but she never, ever forgot to have fun.

6. "When you're determined to reach your goal, not even obstacles can scare you away."

Yeah, Carrie sometimes had her life falling apart because she couldn't really figure out who to love or how to love. But Carrie always knew how to follow her dreams and how to reach her goals. No matter what, she had her eye on what she wanted her future to be and worked her tail off to get there.

7. "It wasn't logic, it was love."

None of us know the difference, but Carrie helped us understand there was a difference.

8. "Eventually, all the pieces fall into place. Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment and know that everything happens for a reason."

Life is hard, things happen that are out of our control, but you just have to accept life and keep on keepin' on.

9. "The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love, and others you don't. But, in the end, they're the people you always come home to. Sometimes it's the family you're born into and sometimes it's the one you make for yourself."

No matter what, Carrie knew who to put first. Always.

10. "After all her struggles, she would someday meet her man, her equal. A man with the same charisma, love of life and humanity she possessed. In the meantime, she'd have her friends and the knowledge that she deserved the world."

Also my personal favorite. Yes, Carrie wants a man in her life, but she won't settle for anyone. So as he's taking his sweet time to get to her, she's taking advantage of her life and not stopping for anybody but herself.

11. "I wanted to call him but our love, volumes one, two, and three, stopped me."

The past is the past for a reason. Thank you for this, Carrie!!!!!

12. "The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you that you love, well, that's just fabulous."

Above all, Carrie taught us self-love. She had the best relationship with herself (even when she didn't) and didn't lose sight of that. She remembered that she had to be satisfied with herself before any man could be, and she knew that as long as she loved herself, she didn't need anyone else to.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
