Everyone knows the song "12 Days of Christmas", but have you ever heard of the "12 Pains of Christmas"? If not, you have to listen. It's hilarious!

Here is my version:

1. The first pain of Christmas is shopping for the perfect gifts.

No one really enjoys searching in multiple stores, hoping you have picked right, and then praying that when they open that they will appreciate 'the thought'.

2. The second pain of Christmas is is dealing with ignorant people.

So much for the time of giving. I have had more people cut me off on the road and in stores recently than normal.

3. The third pain of Christmas is the lack of driving in your travel plans.

I hate that holidays mean that I will not be getting home in my usual time. Talk about the worst traffic ever!

4. The fourth pain of Christmas is attending holiday parties.

All the food and dancing cannot balance out the fancy clothes and meeting of people you do not know. Awkward.

5. The fifth pain of Christmas is seeing unfavorable family members.

If I do not talk to you before or after the holidays, I am probably not excited to see you during the holidays.

6. The sixth pain of Christmas is weight gain.

All the parties and holiday goodies can really add up.

7. The seventh pain of Christmas is wrapping presents.

If you are anything like me, you wait to wrap gifts until the last minute. I even try to make it look really good, but the it is all ruined in the first 10 minutes of Christmas day.

8. The eighth pain of Christmas is all of the lines.

Long lines at the stores, at the post office, and at the gas station. I just want to stay inside until it is over.

9. The ninth pain of Christmas is the weather.

Why is it so cold?! Why can't I be comfortable in my own house or car? The snow flurries worry me so much.

10. The tenth pain of Christmas is taking down the decorations.

I love seeing the lights in the neighborhood and a tree when I get home. Plus I a, just lazy, so why can't my Christmas decorations stay up past January?!

11. The eleventh pain of Christmas is all the material gifts.

You think I am crazy, don't you? But really, where do I put all of this stuff?!

12. The twelfth pain of Christmas is being broke.

You spent the past how ever many months or weeks collecting gifts for others that you are lucky if you can afford any groceries now (unless someone got you a grocery gift card).

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
