Sometimes we all need a break from our tedious lives, and what’s better than a little bit of relaxing down time? Relaxing that comes with a good laugh, because if you don’t enjoy humor, you’re crazy! And where’s a better place to find that than Netflix? Nowhere. Below are 12 television comedies that I have highly enjoyed and that I'm sure will draw you in and keep you pressing “continue” when Netflix annoyingly asks, “are you still watching?”

1. "Baby Daddy."

A bachelor living with his NHL-player brother and TV producer-wannabe best friend are suddenly burdened with a child on their doorstep. Between the three of them, their childhood best friend and their overbearing and crazy mom, the little girl is in for an interesting life.

2. "How I Met Your Mother."

If you haven't seen this one yet, I'm sure you've heard about it and how the ending sent fans into an uproar, but I'm not here to ruin that for you. Watch the lives of five adult friends unfold through episode-long flashbacks as one tells the story of his life to his children, ultimately telling them -- you guessed it -- how he met their mother.

3. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be kidnapped and hidden underground in a bunker for 15 years and then suddenly be placed in the real world? Well, this show will let you see just how that would be as Kimmy Schmidt shows you how she adjusts to life outside the bunker.

4. "The Office."

Between the jokes, the pranks, the individual clips of ridiculous things the office workers say, the "that's what she said" jokes, and the relationships built in the work place, this is the office anyone would want to work in. Or maybe no one.

5. "Raising Hope."

Here's another comedy about a man who randomly becomes a father, but this time there's a twist: he's a teenager who knocked up a serial killer (in the back of his van). Oh, and he's still living at home with his poor parents and lunatic grandmother. With all the shenanigans this family gets into, I'm still surprised the child survived.

6. "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Just like "How I Met Your Mother," a lot of this show is based in a bar. But Paddy's Pub is co-owned by the four friends and the father of two of them. Be prepared for odd and hilarious happenings every episode, because there is never a dull moment with this gang. Also, don't forget to pay the troll toll.

7. "Bob’s Burgers."

This one is different than any others on the list, strictly because it's a cartoon, but it still is just as good as any other. Bob's family is one of a kind, and between them and the food inspectors who constantly want to shut him down, he does anything he can to keep his business up and running.

8. "Weeds"

As much as it is a comedy, it is also a drama, so if you decide to watch this show, you are in for crazy rollercoaster rides of highs and lows as you follow Nancy and her family through 102 episodes of pot-dealing, sex-having and cop-running that they encounter as they cross borders in drug tunnels, kill people and set towns on fire.

9. "Young & Hungry."

Do you remember Lily from "Hannah Montana?" Well, she's no longer Lily, but Emily Osment plays Gabi, an aspiring chef who happens to get a job for a rich tech entrepreneur named Josh. Alongside her best friend Sophia, Josh's housekeeper Yolanda, and assistant Elliot, who isn't quite fond of her, Gabi finds herself in many predicaments a chef would prefer not to be in.

10. "Portlandia."

Because it's a sketch-based comedy, each episode stands on its own fairly well, which makes it fun to skip around because there is no story to follow. If you ask me, it's easy to say that the series is basically Portland, Ore. in a TV show. It's full of diversity and individualism that follows society and its current issues in a humorous way.

11. "iZombie."

Zombies and comedy go together? Yes, they do. Liv Moore is human-turned-zombie whose life turned upside down after an accident at a boat party. In order to feed (but to not go around killing people), she takes up a job at the coroner's office where she eats the brains of those who have died. In doing so, she helps solve murder cases because when she eats a brain, she begins to embody the person they were; she lives their life, feels what they felt, and more importantly, sees what they saw. Who knew being a zombie could be so cool?

12. "Friends" (duh).

If you've read this far and you're a sitcom-type person, you're probably asking yourself "WHAT ABOUT FRIENDS?!" Don't worry, I was saving the best for last. This show is hands down my favorite -- I've seen every episode too many times to count, and how could I not? Between the infamous on-again, off-again couple of Rachel and Ross, Joey and his shenanigans, Monica and her desire to be the best host ever, Phoebe and her free-spirited, straightforward self and crazy songs, plus all the quotes that the show produces, it's no wonder it's one of the most loved shows of all time. A short summary like this does not do it justice, so if you haven't watched it yet, you better get to it, because these six friends will take over your life in no time.

I doubt you've seen every show on this list, so you're welcome. Now get to it.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
