It goes without saying that a new year brings new possibilities for virtually everything. This year is bringing ample new media, with potential blockbuster movies and chart-topping albums, among others, on their way. From Marvel Studios to Taylor Swift, here's just a few of the media being released this year.
1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
This sequel hits theaters May 5, so it's a perfect treat for the end of the academic year.
2. Nicki Minaj's untitled album
There's no word on its specific release date, but with her last album having been released in 2014, we're all ready for some new verses from the Queen of Rap.
3. Spider-Man: Homecoming
Fans first got a taste of Tom Holland as the new Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, but this year he's starring in his own film that debuts on July 7.
4. Taylor Swift's untitled album
Like Nicki Minaj before her, Taylor Swift has also promised an album this year with no specific release date. However, it's much anticipated after the overwhelming success of her last studio album, 1989.
5. Pitch Perfect 3
Pitch Perfect helped bring a cappella into mainstream media, alongside Pentatonix, that is, and the saga continues this winter, with Pitch Perfect 3 wrapping up the year with its release on December 22.
6. Stranger Things, season two

7. A.Y.F.
Bebe Rexha's first studio album, All Your Fault, abbreviated as A.Y.F., was set for release in fall 2016 but got pushed back to 2017. It's unclear when the album is being released, but there's no doubt that it will be successful as the singer has starred in David Guetta's Hey Mama, G-Eazy's Me, Myself & I, and Martin Garrix's In the Name of Love, among songs of her own, such as I Got You and No Broken Hearts, which features Nicki Minaj.
8. Thor: Ragnarok
The third film in the Thor series, this film debuts on November 3.
9. Fifty Shades Darker
This steamy sequel is to be released on February 10.10. Star Wars: Episode VIII
Like Pitch Perfect 3, this second installment in the newest Star Wars trilogy is rounding out the year with its release in December, being released on the 15.
11. Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman is D.C.'s next film following 2016's smash hit Suicide Squad. This film debuts on June 2.
12. Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast is Disney's much anticipated live-action film following the likes of Cinderella and Maleficent before it. It's due for release on March 17.
