12 Life Lessons We've Learned From Grey's Anatomy

I may not be a doctor after watching all these seasons, but at least I have learned a few life lessons.

In the last year my love for Grey's Anatomy has grown immensely! Mostly because I discovered Netflix, and was able to start the entire show from the beginning. I'm proud to say I completed all the seasons in 4 months. I think this just shows my dedication. From all those dedicated hours sitting in front of my laptop, here are just a few of the life lessons I have learned.

1. You may have your entire life planned out for the next 30 years, but it doesn't always go the way you planned.

You may have planned to be a nurse since your freshman year of high school, but then suddenly realized you hate the sight of blood. Or maybe you planned on staying with your boyfriend forever and getting married, but had to part ways. Everything is changing constantly. When Mere and Derek got married they expected a long, happy, growing old together life. *SPOILER ALERT* Derek dies. EVERYONE DIES.

2. Bad things don't always save us from painful moments in the future, but they do make us stronger for the next time they come around.

Ever had a sense of deja'vu? Like maybe, "Oh man I could have sworn I dated a boy just like you, same hair, cocky attitude, and a very small appreciation for anyone in your life." But then you end up dating that boy and the next one that comes along just like him, and you can't for the life of yourself figure out why why you keep having the same ending. Eventually though, you just accept that life moves on and you don't take things as hard.

3. You may feel like the sky is falling down around you, but there is always hope.

And while there is hope, you never give up.

4. Never take the people in your life for granted.

You never know when the last time you will see a person is. You don't want the last words you said to them be hateful and unloving.

5. Whining and being lazy gets you no where.

Nothing is ever just given to you. No matter what it is you have to work for it.

6. Quitting is never an option.

Quitting because something is too hard? Really? You are so much better than that.

7. There are good days, and there are bad days, and that is okay.

Social media especially makes every one believe that other people's lives are perfect. Do not compare you life to other peoples. II promise you, they have bad days just like you. It's normal.

8. Life is too short to worry about where you are going.

Worrying sucks the life out of everything. You can't enjoy life, if you are constantly worried about the decisions you make.

9. In any relationship, you should be valued and important.

Do not let anyone take you for granted. You are just as important as they are, and so are your needs.

10. I know he may seem like 'the one', but you can go on without him.

If he leaves, he wasn't right for you. I know it may seem life not having him is the worst thing in the world, but there is someone out there who was made just for your life. Wait for him.

11. Forgiveness is key.

Some really great people, mess things up really bad. They may do something horrible, but that doesn't mean that they are horrible people. Forgive and move on, don't hold it over their heads.

12. You have no room in your life for other people's unwelcome opinions.

People always give their opinions. It's like we are born to do it, but sometimes, you don't need the extra stress. Sometimes it gives you too many things to think about and it becomes too overwhelming trying to please everyone. When that becomes true, all that matters is what you feel is right for your life.

Thank you Grey's Anatomy! I may not be a doctor after watching all these seasons, but at least I have learned a few life lessons.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
