Arguably one of the greatest comic strips ever made, Calvin and Hobbes was more than just comedic entertainment. Brining in fans of all ages, past and present, many readers were able to relive their childhood through the mind, pen, and comedic genius of Bill Watterson. The adventures of a young boy and his stuffed tiger usually included life lessons in the form of metaphors, irony, and on Sundays, color. Although over 30 years old, here are twelve life lessons still applicable today, as told by Calvin and Hobbes...

1. Weekends are always precious

2. People hear what they want to hear

3. Lying never works

4. Technology doesn't always make life easier

5. Being an adult isn't all it's cracked up to be

6. Mistakes are forgivable

7. Sometimes it's best to keep your thoughts to yourself

8. There's always someone who will have a different view than yours

9. Never try to grow up too fast

10. Just because things are cheaper doesn't mean they're the same

11. Life's more fun when you can laugh at yourself
