Grey’s Anatomy is one of the few shows that offers something for just about anyone, but one of my favorite dynamics that is offered is that of true, lasting relationships. Even though the iconic concept of finding your person was coined by Christina Yang and Meredith Grey, every character on the show has a person of their own, and I honestly feel that if you are going to take anything away from the show, this would be the concept that I personally endorse. (Sorry, McDreamy, relationships come first!) The greatest thing about this concept is that literally anyone can be your person! Kind of like people can be your spirit animals. (Shout out to my own spirit animal, JLaw!) Your person can be your childhood best friend or someone you met a week ago and instantly clicked with. And there are no set qualities that your person must have because we are all different and all need different things, but for the purpose of this article and in honor of the return of my own person, who is basically my personal Christina Yang, here is my list of indicators that you may have found your person.
1.
and will always remind you of yours when you feel worthless
.
2. They are really strong, but can admit when they are feeling vulnerable. Even though they hate that feeling.
3. They are more than likely somewhat of a realist.
4. They speak the truth, even when you don’t really feel like hearing it.
5. They also never sugarcoat anything.
6. They know you on a deep level, so they have an innate ability to give spot-on, perfectly timed advice and encouragement
.
7. They let you wallow in your feelings for an appropriate amount of time, but when that time is over, prepare to be snatched out of bed.
.
8. They understand your weird ways of expressing your emotions and never judge you for it.
9. They are the person you know you can call when you have royally screwed up.
10. They are cool under pressure, most of the time, because they know you aren't the best at it.
.
11. They will eventually be that aunt/uncle that your children will love and run to.
12. And Finally, they will always, always be there. Regardless of the situation, or distance that may be between you.
During the good, the bad, and the ugly, because their your person and they love you.
