College is so much better

12 Feels You Get When You Go Back To Your Old High School

No matter the experience that you had going to high school, you are probably going to make your way back eventually once you graduate. Whether it be a teacher or to see your younger sibling participate in a school-sanctioned event, you still made your way back into the school. Here are 12 feels that you will get returning to your old high school:

1. I feel older than I should

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like I so much taller than most of the kids there. But I also just feel so much more mature, I know it wasn't that long ago that I left but college does something to you.

2. I am shocked that one of my favorite teachers doesn't remember me

You would expect that if you were to walk into one of your favorite classrooms that your teacher would remember you. I get a little choked up at first and then remember that they have how many students a year?

3. The school has already remodeled

How did this happen? I was only gone for a short time and you've gone and changed everything. Like, where did you get all the money from to fund said renovations?

4. Students give me strange looks

I have to do a double take and try not to say anything. I used to walk these halls long before you did and I don't need those looks. But then again, why do I care? I am a college student now, so jokes on you.

5. Did I use to act so childish?

I internally roll my eyes just at the sight of some of these high schoolers. I just stand there praying to myself that I never acted like this while I was in high school.

6. The same cliques still exist

As much as I wish this idea would go out the door, cliques are as present as ever. And just like the movie, the mean girls run the school. Sigh...

7. I remembered the forgotten time when I dressed up every single day

Okay, this is where I really went wrong in high school. I wasted so much time making sure I looked good to go to school. I must have been entirely boy crazy because I could care less now. Why not just strive for comfort in all aspects of life?

8. How did I get myself up this early every day?

Somehow I made it to school every day before 7:38 am and now I am internally throwing up. That sounds like a death sentence and I thank my lucky stars that I don't have to do that anymore.

9. My favorite teacher remembers me just as if I left yesterday.

I would just like to thank this teacher for making things a little bit better during my school day. This is the type of teacher that has your back all the time and I don't know what I would do without them.

10. How do the teachers put up with the sass every day?

I don't know how teachers don't murder students. They put up so much sass and still keep their cool. That has to be a superpower.

11. Did I make my time last in these halls?

Thinking back on it, there was probably more that I could have done during high school. But I am always going to have that feeling of wanting to do more.

12. I am so glad I am not in high school anymore

College is so much better. High school was something, but whatever it was it wasn't as good as whatever I am experiencing in college. So peace out high schoolers, I just came to see one teacher and now I am out.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
