Christmas means Christmas movies. And Christmas movies mean cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies, at least to me and my family. While the classics like "White Christmas" and "A Christmas Story" are awesome, I love Hallmark Christmas movies.

When you watch a Hallmark Christmas movie you never expect to like it, you think, "Oh, this is kind of cheesy," but inevitably you get sucked in. I don't know what it is about them, but I always have to see how they end and I always leave satisfied.

If you have never watched a Hallmark Christmas movie before, take a look at this starter list and if you have, take a look back at some of your old favorites.

1. "Matchmaker Santa"

Dumb title, great movie. This is my sister's favorite Christmas movie. Basically, this girl is on the way to meet her boyfriend's family for Christmas but gets stuck in this small town with her boyfriend's best friend. Also, it has Lacey Chabert and any movie with her is great.

2. "Northpole"

This one is different from a normal Hallmark Christmas movie because it has magic and a real Santa. Of course, having her son's teacher as the love interest makes it fit the mold.

3. "A December Bride"

A fake fiancee movie. How much more do I need to say? Basically, this girl's cousin steals her fiancee and then she has to go to the wedding. While there the guy blurts out that they are engaged. The cousin sucks but you're supposed to like her for some reason, but overall an A+ movie.

4. "12 Gifts of Christmas"

Fun movie about a workaholic dude who hires someone to do all his Christmas shopping for him.

5. "A Princess for Christmas"

High key any Christmas movie that has a prince in it is pretty great, just saying.

6. "The Sweetest Christmas"

Another Lacey Chabert movie. Plus you love to hate her boyfriend from the beginning of the movie. Also, I've already watched this one twice this year.

7. "Hitched for the Holidays"

Another fake dating movie. This one is fun though because the guy is Catholic and the girl is Jewish.

8. "Enchanted Christmas"

Okay, this one is basically on the list solely because Carlos from Big Time Rush is in it. And the main girl is the girl from Spy Kids. And they are actually married in real life.

9. "A Bramble House Christmas"

This one has all the basics of a good Hallmark Christmas movie. Single mother. Moving to a new town. Huge secret that causes a big problem. Ice skating. Making Christmas cookies. What more could you want?

10. "Hearts of Christmas"

This one is fun because the main character works in a hospital which is different. But is not fun because the conflict is a misunderstanding.

11. "Once Upon a Holiday"

The story of a runaway princess and the guy who helps her (even though he has no clue she's a princess).

12. "A Christmas Melody"

Since we started the list with Lacey Chabert, it only makes sense that we end with her too. Plus Mariah Carrey is in this movie.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
